American Airlines is flying to Venezuela again after a six-year break

American Airlines has resumed flights between Miami and Caracas, Venezuela, with tickets now on sale ahead of a launch date of April 30. The route marks the carrier’s return to Venezuela after a six-year absence, with service bookable through aa.com or the American Airlines mobile app.

Flights will be operated by Envoy, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group, using an Embraer 175 dual-class aircraft. The aircraft offers a premium cabin, free Wi-Fi sponsored by AT&T, and in-seat power.

The Miami to Caracas departure is scheduled at 10:16 a.m. ET, arriving at 1:36 p.m. ET. The return flight from Caracas departs at 2:40 p.m. ET and lands in Miami at 6:13 p.m. ET.

American Airlines first began operating in Venezuela in 1987 and grew to become the largest U.S. carrier in the country before suspending service in 2019.

The airline says it connects more destinations nonstop to the United States than any other carrier across the Caribbean and Latin America, a network it describes as supporting business, family, leisure and humanitarian travel for decades.
