ANA Launches Wheelchair and Stroller Rentals at Haneda Airport for All Travellers

ANA Holdings has launched a trial wheelchair and stroller rental service at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, expanding its next-generation mobility programme MoVA to a third domestic location and introducing Japan’s first no-additional-fee one-way drop-off scheme across three major airports.

The proof-of-concept trial began on 15 June 2026 and runs until 31 December 2026. It is available to all customers using Haneda Airport Terminal 2 and follows the successful rollout of MoVA at Kansai and Narita airports.

The service, originally conceived by ANA cabin attendants, allows travellers to rent short-distance mobility devices at the airport and use them from the terminal to their final destination. Available equipment includes manual wheelchairs, two types of electric wheelchairs, electric mobility scooters, and strollers. Rentals can be booked in advance through the Veltra website, with Chinese and Korean language pages to follow.

A key feature of the trial is a one-way drop-off programme operating between Kansai, Narita and Haneda airports until 30 September 2026. ANA says the scheme is Japan’s first of its kind to carry no additional fee between multiple airports. It is designed to serve inbound visitors travelling Japan’s so-called Golden Route, allowing a traveller to rent a wheelchair at Kansai Airport, tour the country, and return the equipment at Haneda without backtracking or incurring extra charges.

The MoVA counter is located on the first floor of Haneda Airport Terminal 2 at the Domestic Arrivals level, and operates between 10:00 and 18:00 Japan Standard Time.

As part of the launch, ANA has also partnered with Uber Japan to extend accessible travel beyond the airport boundary. Uber Assist, a supported ride-hailing service whose drivers receive specialist assistance training, will provide onward transport for mobility equipment users travelling from the terminal to hotels, homes or onward destinations. Vehicles are equipped with storage space for folding wheelchairs and walkers.

To mark the collaboration, ANA is running a lottery campaign offering 1,000 yen off Uber Assist rides. Five winners will be selected per draw, with three draws planned across the application period, giving 15 winners in total. The campaign is open to MoVA users at Haneda from 15 June to 14 September 2026, with winners notified by email at the end of July, August and September respectively.

Inter-terminal support is being provided through a partnership with the Barrier-Free Network Council, a nonprofit organisation with prior operational experience at Naha, Fukuoka and Haneda Terminal 1 airports. The organisation will coordinate accessible travel information and facilitate handovers between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, strengthening coverage across the full airport campus.

ANA Holdings says it will use feedback gathered during the trial to evaluate a wider rollout and full-scale introduction of the MoVA service. The group has stated its intention to create seamless travel experiences for all customers regardless of age or physical condition, working through partnerships with external companies and organisations to extend its accessible travel network.

ANA Holdings is Japan’s largest airline group, comprising 72 companies including full-service carrier All Nippon Airways and low-cost carrier Peach Aviation. ANA has held a SKYTRAX 5-Star rating for 13 consecutive years, the only Japanese airline to have done so.
