ANA Unveils Two Pokémon Jets for 30th Anniversary

All Nippon Airways (ANA) and The Pokémon Company have unveiled the designs for two new themed aircraft, Pokémon Jet Red and Pokémon Jet Green, as part of a three-plane collaboration marking the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise.

Pokémon Jet Red is scheduled to enter service on domestic routes in Japan at the end of July 2026. Pokémon Jet Green will operate on international routes, with its launch date to be confirmed.

Both aircraft are Boeing 787s and feature exterior designs built around Pikachu alongside first-partner Pokémon from the original video game series. Pokémon Jet Red, a Boeing 787-8, pairs Pikachu with fire-type starter Pokémon. Pokémon Jet Green, a Boeing 787-9, features Pikachu alongside grass-type starter Pokémon.

The collaboration traces its origins to the release of the original Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Green Version games in Japan, reflecting a longstanding relationship between ANA and the franchise.

Themed Cabins and Exclusive Amenities

Passengers on both aircraft will find specially themed cabins featuring original Pokémon artwork. ANA has designed a range of exclusive in-flight amenities to accompany the experience.

All passengers will receive a commemorative boarding sticker with a special anniversary design, limited to one per passenger per flight. Availability may vary depending on route and operational conditions, with full design details to be revealed at a later date.

Headrest covers featuring the Pokémon characters shown on each aircraft’s exterior will be available in Economy Class on domestic flights and in Economy and Premium Economy on international routes. The covers are for in-flight use only.

Limited-edition cups bearing Pokémon characters and the 30th anniversary logo will also be available in Economy Class on domestic flights and in Economy and Premium Economy on international services. Custom cocktail napkins featuring the collaboration and anniversary logos will be offered on international flights in Economy and Premium Economy Class.

Third Aircraft Still to Come

ANA and The Pokémon Company have confirmed that a third aircraft, Pokémon Jet Blue, is part of the series. Details on its design and launch timeline have not yet been announced.

The airlines said further updates on flight schedules and events related to the project will be published on the ANA website and dedicated project pages.

The collaboration reflects ANA’s broader commitment to creating themed travel experiences. The partnership with Pokémon has produced previous special livery aircraft over the years, making the 30th anniversary series a continuation of one of aviation’s most recognised pop-culture tie-ups.

Pokémon, one of the world’s best-selling media franchises, launched in Japan in February 1996 with the release of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green for the Game Boy. The franchise has since expanded into trading cards, animation, merchandise, and a global gaming community spanning multiple generations.

Full details and updates are available at the official project page on the ANA website.
