Wisconsin Dells has welcomed its first fantasy-themed resort with the opening of Dellshire Resort, a new 208-room property that combines medieval-inspired design, immersive entertainment and family-friendly attractions. The resort is the first newly built resort to open in the destination in more than 20 years and offers rooms starting from $200 per night.
Located minutes from downtown Wisconsin Dells, the new resort features themed accommodation, indoor and outdoor aquatic attractions, multiple dining venues, event facilities and a mixed reality attraction scheduled to launch in summer 2026. The development adds a new accommodation option to one of the Midwest’s most popular leisure destinations.
A defining feature of the resort is Golspar, a 70-foot-long steel dragon sculpture that greets guests at the entrance. Created by Las Vegas-based metal sculptor Kevin Stone, the nearly 17,000-pound structure is among the largest steel dragon sculptures in the world and serves as a central character throughout the resort.
The medieval theme continues throughout the property, from cathedral-style windows and stonework in the lobby to themed guestrooms and suites. Accommodation options range from standard rooms for four to six guests to the 1,500-square-foot King’s Quarters suite, which can accommodate up to 13 people.
“Wisconsin Dells has always drawn travelers who are looking for a trip beyond the ordinary, and Dellshire was created with that same spirit in mind,” said Michael Lucero, General Manager of Dellshire Resort.
“A fire-breathing dragon welcomes people at the entrance, and the immersion only deepens from there. The fantasy world we’ve created goes beyond architecture and lives in programming, rooms, and dining. Guests are not just passing through a themed environment; they are actually participating in it,” said Michael Lucero, General Manager.
Water Attractions and Family Entertainment
At the centre of the resort is Serpent’s Bay, an indoor-outdoor aquatic complex featuring five pool and splash experiences. Facilities include children’s water attractions, heated pools, an oversized hot tub pavilion and Scale Cove, an adults-only swim-up bar.
The resort also includes Hero’s Hall, a 9,000-square-foot entertainment venue featuring arcade games, prizes and a private event room. The two-storey space is designed as a gathering place for families and groups visiting the resort.
Dining is spread across five venues led by Culinary Director Justin Draper. The lineup includes tavern-style restaurant Blade & Barrel, lobby bar The Thirsty Dragon, poolside dining at Scale Cove, and café marketplace Kettle & Keep.
Beyond the resort, guests can also visit Dawn Manor, a restored 19th-century mansion overlooking Mirror Lake that offers Victorian-inspired dining experiences and access to the historic Uphoff’s Rotunda speakeasy.
Mixed Reality Adventure Arrives in Summer 2026
Dellshire plans to launch Legends of Dellshire in summer 2026 as its signature attraction. The mixed reality experience will use augmented reality headsets to transform locations across the resort into an interactive story world where guests can unlock experiences and follow an evolving narrative during their stay.
“We approached the culinary program as an extension of the medieval-inspired experience, grounded in quality and regional influence, but presented in a way that feels playful and unexpected,” said Justin Draper, Culinary Director.
“Guests can enjoy familiar favorites while discovering new interpretations that feel right at home in this immersive setting,” said Justin Draper.
Dellshire Resort is part of Benchmark Resorts & Hotels, a collection of independent properties operated by Pyramid Global Hospitality. The resort also offers 10,875 square feet of meeting and event space, including a ballroom that can accommodate up to 280 guests.
Wisconsin Dells, known as the “Waterpark Capital of the World!®”, attracts visitors with its concentration of indoor and outdoor waterparks, amusement parks, golf courses, hiking trails and sandstone formations along the Wisconsin River. The opening of Dellshire Resort marks a new chapter for the destination’s accommodation sector and expands its appeal to families, couples and group travellers seeking immersive experiences.
