Weggis, a lakeside resort on the northern shore of Lake Lucerne, is strengthening its position as one of central Switzerland’s most distinctive tourism destinations, combining mountain scenery, wellness experiences, historic landmarks and easy access to some of the country’s most popular attractions.
Located in the canton of Lucerne, the town sits at the foot of Mount Rigi, often referred to as the “Queen of the Mountains.” The destination is known for its unusually mild climate, which allows palm trees, fig trees and chestnut trees to thrive along its waterfront promenade, earning Weggis the nickname “the Riviera of Central Switzerland.”
