AirBorneo Opens Bookings for Kuching-Kuala Lumpur Route

AirBorneo Airways, the new state-owned carrier for Sarawak, announced the opening of ticket sales for its highly anticipated Kuching-Kuala Lumpur route that will commence from 20 July. This marks a significant milestone in the airline’s journey to strengthen connectivity between Sarawak in East Malaysia and Peninsular Malaysia while expanding access to wider domestic and international destinations.

The new service will operate twice daily between Kuching International Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1, reinforcing Kuching’s role as a strategic gateway while providing greater convenience and connectivity for leisure and business travellers.

To celebrate the launch, AirBorneo is introducing its promotional fares of RM375 (about US$92) all-in for a one-way Economy Class ticket and from RM736 (about US$181) all-in for a one-way Business Class ticket, inclusive of airport taxes and fuel surcharges.

By offering tickets exclusively through its official booking channels, AirBorneo ensures customers enjoy the airline’s lowest verified fares, transparent pricing, secure transactions, direct customer support and real-time booking updates.

“The opening of ticket sales for our Kuala Lumpur route marks an important milestone in AirBorneo’s growth journey as we continue strengthening Sarawak’s connectivity with the rest of Malaysia and beyond. Kuala Lumpur is a strategic gateway that expands access to wider domestic and international destinations, creating greater opportunities for tourism, trade, investment and business.

As Sarawak’s airline, we are committed to connecting people, businesses and opportunities through safe, reliable and affordable air travel. The introduction of our ‘Sarawakku Sayang’ fares is part of that commitment, making travel more accessible while supporting Sarawak’s ambitions for stronger connectivity, tourism and sustainable economic growth,” said Megat Ardian Aminuddin, Chief Executive Officer of AirBorneo.

The Kuala Lumpur route represents the first milestone in AirBorneo’s long-term network expansion strategy. As the airline continues to grow, it remains committed to strengthening Sarawak’s connectivity, supporting tourism and economic development, and delivering safe, reliable and value-driven air travel for the communities it serves.
