Hilton Opens 85-Room Chania Old Town Resort and Spa in Crete

Hilton has opened Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa, bringing its flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand to Chania on the Greek island of Crete. The 85-room property sits five minutes’ walk from the entrance to Chania‘s Old Town and around 20 minutes by car from the airport.

The resort is designed as a year-round destination, combining guest rooms with private heated pools, a rooftop infinity pool, a spa and wellness centre, and several dining and event venues overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Every room at the property includes a private balcony with a heated pool, while select rooms and suites also feature in-room saunas and sea views. The hotel is designed to appeal to both leisure travellers and business guests throughout the year, rather than only during the peak summer season.

“This exciting opening marks the return of our iconic flagship Hilton Hotels and Resorts brand to Greece and our continued growth and momentum across the country, with more than 50 hotels now open across a wide range of brands,” said David Kelly, senior vice president, Continental Europe, Hilton.

“Welcoming visitors throughout the year, this outstanding property will offer guests with a truly distinctive stay just moments from Chania’s historic old town.”

Beyond its guest rooms, the resort features a botanical garden with sunset views over the water and the Old Town, along with fitness facilities and additional spaces designed for relaxation and socialising.

The property’s dining and drinking venues include Poème de la Canée, an all-day dining destination across two levels serving Mediterranean cuisine alongside live music. The rooftop restaurant Céleste sits above a heated infinity pool overlooking the Aegean Sea and offers an all-day menu with bar bites and cocktails.

Fauchon Café Pâtisserie makes its debut in Greece at the hotel, offering the French brand’s pastries, desserts, sandwiches and afternoon tea service from the lobby. The C Bar, an evening lounge overlooking the sea, serves aged spirits and cigars, while Little Galaxy, an open-air rooftop botanical garden featuring Cretan herbs, can host events and receptions for up to 120 guests.

Wellness facilities at the resort are anchored by an L’Occitane en Provence Spa, featuring four treatment rooms alongside a hammam, saunas and steam baths. Guests also have access to an indoor heated pool and an outdoor heated pool with sea views, along with a fitness centre offering personalised training programmes and a retail boutique stocking the brand’s skincare and fragrance lines.

“The opening of Hilton Chania Old Town Resort and Spa marks a strategic investment with a long-term vision,” said Lambros Tsiledakis, vice president of development and operations, Tsiledakis Group.

“We are creating a destination that operates 365 days a year, with international partnerships and high hospitality standards, contributing meaningfully to the upgrade of Chania and the strengthening of the local economy. Our goal is to offer an experience that meets the expectations of the modern international traveler, while at the same time preserving the authentic character of the place.”

The hotel also includes modern conference infrastructure and flexible event spaces designed to host weddings, corporate meetings, retreats and other gatherings throughout the year. Guests booking through Hilton’s preferred channels can access Hilton Honors benefits, including a flexible payment option that combines points and cash, member discounts and free standard Wi-Fi.

The opening adds to Hilton’s expanding footprint in Greece, where the company now operates more than 50 hotels across a range of brands.
