Sonder, Inc., a San Francisco-based hospitality brand, has recently opened The Craftsman in the heart of Downtown LA. Originally known as the Lane Mortgage Building, the 12-story, 1923 property was designed by Los Angeles architect Loy Lester Smith, and sits directly opposite the historic Apple Tower Theater. It has since been converted from office use and completely renovated.

Sonder, Inc. has opened The Winfield, a new hotel in a historic building in Los Angeles. This building, originally built in the late 1920s for Foreman & Clark, is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument showcasing Art Deco and Gothic architectural styles. Located in the Jewelry District, the building was formerly used as offices but has been transformed into a 125-key hotel, named in honor of Foreman & Clark’s founder.
The hotel features a grand lobby with high ceilings, original marble flooring, and decorative tiling.
