Galatasaray’s Nef Stadium Enters Guinness Book of Records

Galatasaray’s Nef Stadium in Istanbul, with solar panels installed on its roof, entered the Guinness Book of Records.

The solar panels on the roof of the stadium went down in history as the world’s largest stadium-mounted solar power plant in terms of its installed power.

With 10,404 solar panels and 4.2 megawatts of electricity production, Galatasaray will save 4.5 million kilowatts annually.

The Solar Power Plant will contribute more than 1 Billion TL to Galatasaray at the end of 25 years.

Solar power plant installed by Enerjisa Enerji on the roof of Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex Nef Stadium started production.

The entire investment financing of the facility, which was established on a total area of 40 thousand square meters, was provided by Enerjisa Enerji, amounting to approximately 20 million TL. Thanks to the solar energy facility established with the Performance Based Business Model, the stadium will also be a role model in energy saving by producing its own electricity.

The facility, which will generate electricity from the sun, which is a 100% renewable and clean energy source, will prevent the emission of approximately 3,250 tons of CO₂ every year, and in this way, it will contribute to the protection of nature by preventing the release of greenhouse gas that 200 thousand trees can clean in the atmosphere in 25 years.

With more than 10 thousand solar panels installed on the roof of the stadium, an installed power capacity of 4.2 MW will be reached and it is the largest capacity solar power plant among stadiums in the world.

The installed panels will generate 4,650 MWh of electricity, equivalent to the consumption of approximately 2,000 households per year.

Within the scope of the Energy Performance Model, the maintenance of the facility for 10 years will be carried out by Enerjisa Energy.
