Dusit Princess Phatthalung

Dusit Princess Phatthalung Opens in South Thailand

Dusit Hotels and Resorts, the hotel brand of Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, has marked a significant milestone in its domestic expansion with the soft opening of Dusit Princess Phatthalung.

This opening represents the 15th Dusit-branded property in Thailand and notably, the brand’s first venture into the far south of the country.

Located in the culturally rich and naturally splendid region of Phatthalung, the Dusit Princess Phatthalung is poised to redefine hospitality standards in this up-and-coming southern destination. Just an hour’s drive from Trang Airport and a one-hour and forty-minute journey from Hat Yai International Airport, the hotel’s strategic location makes it an ideal gateway for both leisure and business travelers.

The ‘resort-in-the-city’ themed four-star hotel comprises 132 spacious and elegantly furnished guestrooms and suites, with the largest spanning up to 79 square meters. The design of the hotel thoughtfully reflects its stunning natural surroundings and pays tribute to the intricate woven cattail handicrafts, known locally as Krajood, a unique cultural hallmark of the area.

Dusit Princess Phatthalung offers a serene inner-city oasis, complete with a range of family-friendly facilities. Guests can enjoy a large, sculptured swimming pool with an adjoining children’s pool, open spaces for Yoga and Muay Thai classes, and nature-inspired activities. The hotel also regularly showcases the handiwork of local artisans, further immersing guests in the region’s rich cultural tapestry.

The resort’s state-of-the-art ballroom, accommodating up to 300 guests, ensures it is well-equipped to host both small and large-scale gatherings. This makes Dusit Princess Phatthalung an ideal location for corporate events, weddings, and other significant celebrations.

Food enthusiasts will delight in the resort’s specialty restaurant, Chi Chiao, which celebrates the region’s distinctive cuisine with refined interpretations of Thai-Chinese street food classics. From pan-fried rice noodles with crispy sea bass in gravy to classic honey marinade char siu pork, the menu is a culinary adventure. Dusit’s signature Dusit Gourmet serves premium teas and coffee, invigorating juices and smoothies, fresh-baked treats, and an array of international favorites in a cozy setting overlooking the resort’s pond. Both dining venues emphasize the use of the finest locally sourced ingredients, including organic sangyod brown rice from nearby farms.

Phatthalung is a treasure trove of cultural and natural wonders. Known as the birthplace of Nang Talung shadow-puppet plays and Nora dance theatre, the city is also home to ancient monuments, temples, and the distinctive limestone rock formation of Khao Ok Talu. The Tai Nod Green Market and the Train Station Night Market add to the city’s vibrancy, offering a plethora of local delights.

Guests at Dusit Princess Phatthalung have convenient access to natural attractions like the expansive Thale Noi Bird Sanctuary and Khao Pu-Khao Ya National Park, both a mere 40-minute drive away.

Gilles Cretallaz, Chief Operating Officer of Dusit International, commented on the opening: “Southern Thailand’s expanding infrastructure, coupled with new tourist attractions and business hubs, presents a timely opportunity for Dusit to expand its footprint in the region. We look forward to introducing our guests to the natural, culinary, and cultural wonders of Phatthalung.”

To celebrate its opening, Dusit Princess Phatthalung is offering a special room package starting at only TBH 1,500 ++ per night for a Superior Room with breakfast for two, complimentary late check-out until 15:00, and a 20% discount on dining at Chi Chiao Restaurant, valid until 31 January 2024.

Dusit’s property portfolio spans 19 countries and comprises 56 hotels operating under Dusit Hotels and Resorts and approximately 240 luxury villas under Elite Havens. With more than 60 Dusit Hotels and Resorts in the pipeline worldwide, the opening of Dusit Princess Phatthalung is a testament to the brand’s continued growth and commitment to offering unique hospitality experiences around the globe.
