Maison Felix opens boutique hotel in Miami Beach

Namron Hospitality opens Maison Felix, a 29-room boutique hotel in Miami Beach’s North Beach neighborhood, positioning the property as a quieter alternative to the city’s high-traffic resort areas.

The hotel, designed by Felix Cohen and managed by Namron Hospitality, opens in a restored 1948 building steps from the ocean and targets travelers seeking a low-key stay focused on design, culture, and locality. Room rates start from $300 per night.

The opening adds a new independent hotel to North Beach at a time when the wider Miami Beach market continues to see growth driven by large-scale resorts and branded lifestyle properties. Maison Felix emphasizes small scale, residential character, and curated experiences as its core differentiators. The project reflects broader interest from operators and developers in North Beach as an emerging hospitality zone.

A boutique approach in North Beach

Maison Felix occupies a discreet site behind native landscaping and retains original mid-century architectural elements from its 1948 structure, including stucco exterior walls and Spanish barrel roof tiles. The hotel offers 29 rooms and suites arranged around a central courtyard with a swimming pool shaded by palm trees. Ground-level suites open directly onto the courtyard, while upper-level suites feature vaulted ceilings and increased natural light.

The south-facing wing of the property includes connecting suites designed for families and small groups. According to the operator, the layout allows guests to stay close together while maintaining privacy, a feature aimed at longer stays and multi-room bookings. Water features in the courtyard are designed to soften ambient city noise, reinforcing the hotel’s focus on calm.

Felix Cohen, who conceived and designed the hotel, said “North Beach is one the city’s last true gems. It has a soul.” He added, “Hotel brands have started to take notice and there is a new energy coming in, a layer of luxury arriving, but it’s still grounded in authenticity.”

Cohen said the intent was to create a locally rooted experience rather than a conventional resort stay. “We wanted to create the feeling of living like a local while immersing guests in beauty, nature, art, and culture,” he said. “Ours is a slower and more refined Miami, one that is rooted in feeling and joy.”

Design, management, and market positioning

The interior design draws on coastal and Mediterranean references, with custom floor and wall patterns inspired by teak yacht decking and a color palette of burnt orange and turquoise. The hotel features warm lighting, natural stone surfaces, textured fabrics, brass accents, vintage mirrors, and contemporary artwork by local artists. The design aims to balance European influences with Miami’s creative identity.

Maison Felix is managed by Namron Hospitality, founded by Miami-based hotelier Yves Naman. The group is known for boutique properties in Mexico, including the La Valise Hotels. Naman said the Miami project reflects a philosophy centered on emotional connection rather than scale. “For me, hospitality is not about excess, it is about emotion,” said Yves Naman, Founder, Namron Hospitality. “Maison Felix is a sanctuary where presence, beauty, and belonging come together.”

Naman said the goal was to introduce a more understated hospitality model to Miami Beach. “In Miami Beach, we wanted to create a more soulful place, one where every guest feels at home the moment they arrive, embraced by warmth and a sense of joy,” he said.

Cohen said Namron was selected for its approach to destination-led development. “Namron was the obvious partner for this project,” he said. “Their unique ability to create and transform destinations, their commitment to beautiful spaces, and their passion for heartfelt service and intuitive experiences align perfectly with the ethos of Maison Felix.”

The hotel operates without large public venues, instead encouraging guests to explore nearby cafés, galleries, shops, and cultural spaces such as the North Beach Bandshell. Maison Felix positions itself as a base for experiencing Miami Beach beyond its most crowded districts, aligning with a growing segment of travelers seeking smaller, design-driven hotels with a strong sense of place.
