Radisson Blu opens at Almaty Airport

Radisson Hotel Group has opened the Radisson Blu Hotel, Almaty Airport, a new 171-room property located 2.6 kilometers from Almaty International Airport and about 25 minutes from the city center. The hotel is the closest internationally branded property to the airport and is positioned to serve business travelers, airline crews, and transit passengers.

The opening marks the group’s third property in Almaty and reflects its continued expansion in Central Asia. The hotel aims to meet growing demand for upscale accommodation near the airport, where passenger traffic reached 12.5 million in 2025.

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Almaty Airport features a mix of rooms and suites designed for both short and extended stays, including junior suites and a presidential suite with panoramic views. Accessible rooms are also available, catering to a wide range of travelers.

Dining options include the Mezzanine Restaurant for all-day meals, a Lobby Lounge and Bar, and the F7 Skybar and Lounge, which offers a rooftop setting with views of the city and surrounding mountains. The hotel targets both business dining and leisure guests looking to relax between flights.

The property includes a range of facilities designed for transit and corporate guests:

  • A 490 m² spa area with an indoor pool and fitness center
  • A dedicated cabin crew lounge for airline staff
  • Flexible meeting and conference spaces covering 285 m²
  • A children’s game room and an on-site beauty salon

Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city with a population of more than 2 million, is a key hub for business, diplomacy, and tourism in Central Asia. The city has seen rising international connectivity and increasing foreign arrivals, supporting demand for new hospitality developments.

The new hotel follows the opening of Sadu Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals, in 2025 and the signing of Radisson Hotel & Residences Almaty. These developments highlight the group’s strategy to expand in one of the region’s fastest-growing urban markets.

“This hotel represents a significant milestone in our expansion strategy for Kazakhstan,” said David Jenkins, Vice President Business Development at Radisson Hotel Group. “We see strong demand for branded upscale hospitality near Almaty Airport, and this new Radisson Blu will set a new benchmark for comfort and convenience in the area. From business travelers to airline crews, we look forward to welcoming guests to an exceptional Radisson Blu experience.”

The hotel operates under a franchise agreement with NS7 LLP and features interiors inspired by Radisson Blu’s Scandinavian design principles, combining natural materials with functional layouts.

With limited branded competition near the airport, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Almaty Airport is positioned to serve a diverse mix of guests, including corporate travelers, government delegations, and airline personnel. The property is expected to become a key option for layovers and business travel in the city.
