SONO Hotels Signs 90 Room SONO Felice Bali Canggu Hotel

SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia has signed a hotel management agreement with PT Nelayan Development SPV for SONO Felice Bali Canggu, a new 90-room upper upscale lifestyle hotel in Bali set to open in July 2028.

The property will rise on Jalan Nelayan in Canggu, just minutes from Batu Bolong Beach. The project strengthens SONO’s expansion strategy in Indonesia as the company targets fast-growing lifestyle destinations across Southeast Asia.

SONO Felice Bali Canggu is designed as a residential-style hospitality concept aimed at both short-term and extended-stay travellers. The hotel targets digital nomads and international visitors seeking flexible accommodation with lifestyle-focused amenities.

The development will include four architecturally distinct buildings inspired by the elements of Water, Fire, Air, and Earth. The hotel also plans to offer ocean views, rooftop dining, and private butler services.

Canggu has become one of Bali’s most popular travel districts, attracting surfers, remote workers, and younger travellers with its beach clubs, cafes, creative scene, and nightlife.

Jihong An, Senior Vice President – Asia of SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia, said “Our expansion strategy is grounded in long-term fundamentals and strong destination potential. Canggu represents one of the most compelling lifestyle markets in the region, and this hotel reflects our focus on aligning product, location, and partner vision to deliver sustainable performance.”

The hotel marks the first Bali property for the SONO Felice brand, which focuses on premium lifestyle accommodation with residential-style design and long-stay appeal.

Ahti Khiili, President Director of PT Nelayan Development SPV, said “Canggu continues to evolve as one of Bali’s most desirable destinations. With SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia, we have a partner who understands how to translate this into a distinctive hospitality concept.”

The project reflects wider changes in travel demand as more travellers seek flexible stays that combine comfort, design, and local experiences.

Evan Burns, Area Vice President – Indonesia of SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia, said “This project is designed for how people travel today; flexible, design-focused, and connected to the destination, while staying true to the energy of Canggu.”

SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia said the Bali project is expected to strengthen its position in Indonesia’s upper upscale hospitality market as tourism demand in Bali continues to grow.
