WTM London Appoints Chris Carter-Chapman as 2025 Event Director

WTM London appoints Chris Carter-Chapman as Event Director, marking a key leadership transition for what is considered the world’s most influential travel and tourism event.

The announcement was made by RX, the event’s organizer, ahead of the next edition of WTM London, scheduled for November 4–6, 2025, at ExCeL London.

A Strategic Appointment with Global Impact

Chris Carter-Chapman brings more than 15 years of experience in media and events across Europe, North America, and South America. His career includes high-level positions such as Head of Content, Commercial Director, and Event Director. Prior to joining RX, Carter-Chapman spent nearly five years at Intelligence Squared, an events company specializing in global debate forums. Before that, he served as Event Director at Centaur Media, where he managed large-scale events including the Festival of Marketing and Marketing Week Live.

His new role fills the position previously held by Juliette Losardo, who has transitioned to RX Arabia. Carter-Chapman will report directly to Jonathan Heastie, Travel Portfolio Director at RX UK.

WTM London Prepares for Its 45th Edition

The 2025 edition of WTM London will also celebrate the 45th anniversary of the event, which began in 1980. As ExCeL London marks its own milestone—25 years since opening—the venue is nearing completion of a 25,000 square meter expansion, making it the largest fully integrated event space in Europe. This expansion aligns with WTM’s growth plans and will help accommodate an even broader international audience in 2025.

Jonathan Heastie expressed his confidence in the new leadership, noting Carter-Chapman’s strong track record in B2B event management. He emphasized the importance of delivering another successful edition after the strong momentum seen in 2024.

A Vision for Travel Industry Transformation

Carter-Chapman’s appointment reflects RX’s commitment to delivering greater value and innovation to global travel professionals. He stated that he is deeply aware of the responsibility that comes with leading a platform of WTM London’s caliber and sees vast potential for continued growth in the coming years.

In his words, WTM London 2025 will not just be a trade show—it will be an opportunity to “celebrate global travel as a force for good” and to exchange ideas on the future of sustainable, experience-led tourism. With the upgraded ExCeL venue, the event aims to deliver a more immersive and impactful experience for attendees, exhibitors, and partners alike.

What to Expect at WTM London 2025

The event will return to ExCeL London from November 4 to 6, 2025. With new leadership, expanded venue space, and a global travel sector seeking smarter, more sustainable solutions, this edition is expected to feature:

  • Enhanced exhibitor zones tailored to regions and sectors
  • Content-led sessions focused on innovation and recovery
  • Increased engagement for startups and digital platforms
  • Special programming tied to WTM’s 45th anniversary

As the world continues to evolve and adapt post-pandemic, WTM London remains a vital platform for shaping the travel industry’s next chapter. With Chris Carter-Chapman now at the helm, all eyes are on London for what promises to be a transformative and forward-looking event in 2025.
