American Airlines will launch six international routes in summer 2026, including the carrier’s first nonstop flights from the United States to Budapest and new service to Prague.
The airline will also add flights to Athens, Milan and Zurich, and extend summer service to Buenos Aires.
Seasonal service from Philadelphia to Budapest and Prague begins May 21, 2026, operated by Boeing 787-8 aircraft. The additions will bring American’s trans-Atlantic network from Philadelphia to 20 destinations next year.
From Dallas-Fort Worth, American will start daily seasonal flights to Athens on May 21, 2026, with Boeing 787-8 aircraft, operate summer seasonal service to Zurich through August 4, 2026, with Boeing 777-200 aircraft, and extend seasonal service to Buenos Aires through August 3, 2026, with Boeing 787-8 aircraft. From Miami, year-round service to Milan begins March 29, 2026, using Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
“Customers continue to tell us that Europe is where they want to go each summer and these new routes make it even easier to cross the Atlantic in 2026,” said Brian Znotins, senior vice president of network and schedule planning.
American says the summer schedule will include a record number of daily flights from the United States to Italy and Greece. The Zurich service from Dallas-Fort Worth will run May 21–August 4, 2026. The extension of Buenos Aires service from Dallas-Fort Worth will operate May 21–August 3, 2026. The Miami–Milan route will be the only nonstop link between the two cities and complements service to Rome that began in summer 2025.
In Asia, American will increase premium seating capacity to Tokyo Haneda by more than 45% compared with summer 2025. Starting March 29, 2026, Dallas-Fort Worth will see daily Boeing 777-300 service to Tokyo Haneda, and Los Angeles will operate twice-daily Boeing 777-200 service on the same route.
Tickets for the new summer 2026 routes will be available beginning August 11 on aa.com and in the airline’s mobile app.
