Avianca Adds Dallas–Bogotá to U.S. Route Network

Avianca adds Dallas–Bogotá to its U.S. route network, further expanding its international footprint with four weekly nonstop flights between the two cities. The new service is part of a broader strategy to deepen connectivity between Colombia and key U.S. markets during the busy summer 2025 travel season.

Four Weekly Flights Connecting Texas and Colombia

Scheduled to operate four times per week, the Dallas–Bogotá route marks a significant milestone for Avianca. With this addition, the airline now offers 19 direct routes between Colombia and nine U.S. destinations. The service is set to boost tourism, business, and family travel between two influential urban centers in the Western Hemisphere.

Frederico Pedreira, CEO of Avianca, emphasized the importance of the expansion: “With this new route between Dallas and Bogotá, we now offer 19 direct routes from Colombia to nine U.S. destinations, with more than 170 weekly flights scheduled for the June 2025 peak travel season.”

Operating from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to El Dorado International Airport (BOG) in Bogotá, the new route complements Avianca’s existing portfolio of flights from cities across Colombia to major American hubs.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties Through Air Connectivity

In a statement of support, Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia, highlighted the broader significance of the launch: “The launch of the direct Dallas–Bogotá route is great news for travelers and a major step forward in strengthening ties between the United States and Colombia.”

Caballero also underscored that Avianca’s expansion aligns with ProColombia’s national strategy to position Colombia as a prime destination for tourism, investment, and business—an initiative branded “the country of beauty.”

Local officials in the U.S. are equally enthusiastic. Andrés Fernando Diez Martínez, Consul of Colombia in Dallas, called the new route “an important step in strengthening the longstanding, deep and dynamic relationship between Colombia and the United States.” He pointed to increased opportunities for travelers, entrepreneurs, and bilateral collaboration across industries.

Avianca’s Expanding U.S.–Colombia Route Map

The addition of Dallas–Bogotá brings Avianca’s U.S.–Colombia route count to 19. The airline’s comprehensive network is strategically positioned to serve both leisure and business travelers across major population centers in the Americas.

This wide-reaching network offers travelers more flexibility and contributes to Avianca’s strategy of being the airline of choice for transcontinental travel between the U.S. and Latin America. With more than 170 flights per week planned for the summer season, Avianca is preparing for one of its busiest schedules yet.

Positioning Avianca for Growth in 2025 and Beyond

Founded in 1919 and one of the oldest operating airlines in the world, Avianca continues to evolve its service offerings to meet modern demands. The airline’s recent moves highlight a renewed focus on strengthening intercontinental connectivity and positioning Colombia as a regional hub for air travel.

The Dallas–Bogotá route exemplifies Avianca’s broader ambitions to remain competitive in the Americas while also playing a critical role in regional development. As passenger volumes rebound and global mobility gains momentum post-pandemic, the new flight reflects confidence in strong, long-term demand between North and South America.

With this latest addition, Avianca reinforces its commitment to serving as a bridge between nations, not just through air travel, but by supporting tourism, economic exchange, and cultural diplomacy in the Western Hemisphere.
