Delta Air Lines has launched new nonstop flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Rome and Barcelona, expanding international travel options from the Pacific Northwest ahead of the summer season.
The new services include the first-ever direct route between Seattle and Barcelona. Delta now operates flights to 60 international destinations from SEA, strengthening its position as the airport’s largest international carrier.
Seasonal service to Rome operates four times per week, while Barcelona flights run three times weekly. Both routes use Airbus A330-900 aircraft.
Delta is the first airline to operate nonstop flights between Seattle and Barcelona and the second carrier serving Rome from SEA. The airline said the new routes support growing demand for leisure and business travel to Southern Europe.
“Delta Air Lines’ launch of two new direct flights to Barcelona and Rome from SEA demonstrates their commitment to building a global hub here in Seattle,” said Ryan Calkins, Port of Seattle Commission President.
“With their top-notch service to and from Europe, Delta is opening up our region to Southern Europe for personal travel and business opportunities. SEA now boasts 60 direct international flights, with more to come,” he added.
The Seattle to Rome route departs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 1:55 p.m., arriving in Rome at 10:00 a.m. the following day. Return flights leave Rome on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 12:20 p.m.
Flights between Seattle and Barcelona depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 3:25 p.m., arriving in Spain at 11:10 a.m. the next day. Return flights operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 1:20 p.m.

“Delta is proud to further strengthen our position as the global airline in Seattle with the launch of new nonstop service to Rome and Barcelona,” said Joan Wang, Managing Director — Global Sales.
“These new routes reflect our continued commitment to the Seattle community and our investment in providing customers with more premium, convenient access to some of the world’s most sought-after destinations,” she added.
The new European services add to Delta’s existing international network from Seattle, which already includes nonstop flights to Amsterdam, London, Paris, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, and Tokyo-Haneda.
SEA has continued to expand its international route network in 2026. Cathay Pacific launched Hong Kong service in March, while Alaska Airlines began Rome flights in April and plans to add London and Reykjavik routes later this month.
According to the Port of Seattle, the airport now offers 60 international services to 37 destinations on 29 airlines, surpassing pre-pandemic levels.
