Emirates and AEGEAN link loyalty programs in a move that opens up a world of travel rewards for frequent flyers. From today, Emirates Skywards members can earn and redeem Miles across AEGEAN and its regional carrier Olympic Air, covering 162 destinations throughout Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. Meanwhile, AEGEAN’s Miles+Bonus members will gain reciprocal access to Emirates flights and rewards beginning 21 May, tapping into a network that spans more than 140 cities across six continents.
A Win for Frequent Flyers
For the 35 million members of Emirates Skywards and over 4 million Miles+Bonus members, this marks a significant expansion in travel flexibility and reward opportunities. Under the newly enhanced partnership, Skywards members can now collect up to 1.25 Miles per mile flown on all AEGEAN-operated flights, including Olympic Air routes. Redemptions start at just 8,000 Miles for a one-way Economy Class ticket and 17,500 Miles for Business Class.
On the flip side, Miles+Bonus members will soon be able to accrue award Miles on all Emirates flights depending on the fare type purchased, and redeem those Miles for Economy or Business Class seats across Emirates’ globe-spanning route map. That includes long-haul favorites like New York, Tokyo, and Sydney, as well as regional hubs such as Dubai and Athens.
Connecting Greece to the World—and Vice Versa
This deeper integration between loyalty programs builds on the existing codeshare agreement between the two carriers, which already provides access to 14 destinations across Greece, four more across Europe, and onward travel through Dubai. AEGEAN passengers can also book Emirates-operated flights from Athens to both Dubai and Newark, enhancing options for transatlantic and Middle East travel.
At the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) event in Dubai, leaders from both airlines officially marked the announcement. Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards, said the initiative “will offer more than 38 million frequent flyer members a chance to earn and redeem Miles while exploring more than 200 destinations across our joint network.”
Elias Mandroukas, AEGEAN’s Deputy Chief Commercial Officer for Digital and Marketing, added that the enhanced partnership “creates new opportunities for our Miles+Bonus members to travel even further and enjoy seamless experiences across a truly global network.”
Loyalty Beyond Borders
For travelers based in the US and UK—especially those planning European getaways or Middle East stopovers—this development simplifies mileage use across borders. Emirates’ loyal flyers can now explore lesser-known Greek islands or Eastern European gems using Miles, while AEGEAN customers gain access to Emirates’ premium cabins and far-reaching network without switching loyalty ecosystems.
Skywards, recognized in 2024 as the “World’s Leading Airline – Rewards Programme” by the World Travel Awards, brings a wealth of perks beyond flights. Members can earn Miles through hotel stays, car rentals, shopping, and lifestyle experiences. These Miles can be cashed in for upgrades, event tickets, gift cards, and even once-in-a-lifetime travel adventures.
Meanwhile, Miles+Bonus, AEGEAN’s loyalty program, gives members access to more than 250 direct routes, many connecting through Athens, Thessaloniki, or Heraklion. Its partner ecosystem includes over 200 brands across travel, dining, and retail. Members earn status tiers—Blue, Silver, or Gold—with benefits that improve over time, including priority services and exclusive offers.
More Routes, More Rewards
This latest move aligns with a broader trend in aviation, where airlines are leaning on partnerships to boost customer loyalty and global reach. As competition heats up in both budget and premium travel segments, the ability to stretch loyalty benefits across multiple carriers is increasingly valued by frequent flyers, especially digital nomads and international professionals who juggle trips across continents.
Travelers planning summer trips to the Mediterranean, or those looking to add a European leg to their Emirates journey, can now do so with added flexibility and better rewards. Whether it’s a business trip to Dubai, a family vacation in Crete, or a transatlantic journey through Athens, the combined mileage ecosystem encourages travelers to explore more—with fewer limitations.
