Emirates has announced a major expansion in its codeshare partnership with United Airlines, adding nine new destinations in Mexico to the list.
The expanded network marks Mexico as the first country outside of the United States to be included in the codeshare agreement between Emirates and United.
Previously, the codeshare network had focused primarily on U.S. cities. Now, travelers flying with Emirates to either Chicago or Houston can enjoy seamless connections to popular Mexican cities such as Cancun, Cozumel, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, San Jose Del Cabo, Leon/Guanajuato, and Queretaro, in addition to Mexico City.
More Flexibility and Choices for Travelers
The expanded partnership also offers more flexible flight timings for travelers heading to Mexico City, with options for Emirates’ daily services from Dubai with a stopover in Barcelona. Furthermore, those flying from any of the nine Mexican points can connect to Emirates’ broader network through Chicago or Houston.
Tickets and Travel Plans
Tickets for these new codeshare destinations are available for booking via emirates.com and preferred travel agencies, starting from September 14. The expansion is likely to attract significant interest among travelers from the Middle East, India, and South Africa.
New Service Offerings and Mileage Benefits
Emirates operates daily services to Houston with its flagship A380 aircraft, which recently introduced Premium Economy class. The airline also offers seven weekly flights between Dubai and Chicago, operated by Boeing 777s. Emirates Skywards members can also earn and redeem miles on codeshare flights.
