Emirates to Bridge Middle East and South America with Dubai to Bogotá Flights

Emirates is set to introduce a groundbreaking daily service from Dubai to Bogotá, Colombia, starting June 3, marking a historic first in connecting the Middle East region with the northern part of the South American continent.

This service not only bridges Colombia with the United Arab Emirates but also expands Emirates’ South American network, adding Bogotá alongside São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires, enhancing its presence in the Americas with a total of 19 destinations.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, highlights the strategic significance of adding Bogotá to their network, emphasizing improved connectivity and choice for travelers. The introduction of daily flights to Colombia’s vibrant capital aligns with Emirates’ mission to provide premium experiences both on the ground and in the air, fostering business and leisure travel.

The service will operate via Miami, establishing Emirates as the pioneer in offering premium services on this route, connecting south Florida with Colombia. This service is a response to the strong demand for travel between Bogotá and Dubai, as well as between Bogotá and numerous global destinations in Emirates’ network, offering an unprecedented level of comfort and style for travelers between Bogotá and Miami.

Due to Bogotá’s high altitude, a stopover in Miami is necessary, selected for its strong tourism and trade links with Bogotá. Travelers must comply with United States entry regulations and hold the necessary documents due to the immigration procedures in Miami.

Tickets for flights to Bogotá are available for purchase starting today, with services commencing on June 3. These flights can be booked via the Emirates website, app, or through travel agents, offering passengers a seamless booking experience.

Emirates will operate its Boeing 777-300ER on this route, featuring 354 seats across three cabins, setting a new standard for service with lie-flat seats in First and Business Class, complimentary food and beverage, and a generous baggage allowance.

Passengers can also enjoy over 6,500 channels of global entertainment content through Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, enhancing the travel experience with a vast selection of movies, TV shows, music, and more.

Additionally, the new service will offer up to 20 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight, opening new markets for Colombian exports such as fresh flowers, fruits, vegetables, and other perishables, further connecting Colombia with global markets.

The launch of Emirates’ services to Colombia has been praised by His Excellency Germán Umaña Mendoza, Colombia’s Minister of Trade, Industry, and Tourism, as a significant step in expanding the country’s connectivity, fostering trade, investment, and tourism.

Sergio París Mendoza, Director General of Aerocivil Colombia, and Dana Young, President and CEO of Visit Florida, also expressed their support and enthusiasm for the new route, highlighting its importance for international relations, tourism, and economic impact.

Bogotá, known as the “Athens of South America,” is a center for tourism, education, culture, finance, and multinational companies, making it an attractive destination for travelers and business professionals alike.

This new service is expected to enhance connectivity for travelers heading to Dubai and beyond, with Dubai serving as a hub for Emirates’ extensive network, offering sun-soaked beaches, heritage activities, world-class hospitality, and leisure facilities.
