EVA Air Launches Dallas–Taipei Route, Expands North America Network

EVA Air inaugurated its new Dallas–Fort Worth to Taipei route on October 4, 2025, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

The launch marks the airline’s ninth passenger gateway in North America, expanding its network between Taiwan and the United States as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen trans-Pacific connectivity.

The inaugural event was co-hosted by EVA Air President Clay Sun, Ambassador Alexander Tah-Ray Yui of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States, and DFW Airport Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Ken Buchanan. The route initially operates three times weekly, increasing to five in mid-November and reaching daily service by the end of 2025, positioning EVA Air as the Taiwanese carrier with the most flights to North America.

EVA Air Expands Trans-Pacific Services

“EVA Air’s new route builds on nearly 30 years of partnership with Dallas-Fort Worth, which began with our cargo operations,” said Clay Sun, President of EVA Air. He noted that the airline first began cargo flights between Dallas and Taipei in 1998, laying the groundwork for expanded passenger service. “Those years of experience and partnership have laid the foundation for what we now inaugurate—a direct, reliable, and convenient service for our passengers.”

Passengers arriving in Taipei on flight BR49 and other North American routes can connect to more than 450 weekly EVA Air flights throughout Asia without additional security screening. The airline expects this route to strengthen business and leisure travel between Texas and Asia while enhancing trade and tourism links across the Pacific.

At the ceremony, DFW Airport’s Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Ken Buchanan said, “One of the largest economic impacts that exists in this market is adding new air service like a route from DFW to Taipei.” Ambassador Alexander Yui called the new connection “a proud moment” for the city and for Taiwan–U.S. relations, while Carlos Flores, Mayor Pro Tem of Fort Worth, described the Dallas-Fort Worth region as “a central hub not just of commerce but of culture and tourism.”

New Aircraft and Enhanced Passenger Experience

The Dallas–Taipei route is operated with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring EVA Air’s newest fourth-generation Premium Economy Class. The product makes its U.S. debut on this service and includes amenity kits designed in partnership with HUNTER. Royal Laurel Class passengers will receive upgraded amenity kits, sleepwear, and slippers created with Maison Kitsuné, reflecting the airline’s emphasis on comfort and design innovation.

To mark the launch, EVA Air hosted an in-terminal celebration with interactive activities and prize giveaways. All passengers on the inaugural flight received commemorative gifts prepared by the airline. The event also underscored the growing importance of North Texas as a business and technology hub, fueled by an expanding Asian American community and the relocation of several multinational corporate headquarters to the region.

EVA Air has served the North American market for over three decades and has been recognized as a SKYTRAX 5-Star Airline for 10 consecutive years. The addition of Dallas-Fort Worth expands its nonstop passenger network between Taiwan and North America to nine destinations: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Houston, Chicago, Vancouver, Toronto, and now Dallas. With the DFW–Taipei route, EVA Air continues to strengthen its role in connecting travelers between Asia and the Americas.
