JetBlue adds nonstop New York–Cleveland flights with fares from $49

JetBlue announces a new daily nonstop service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, expanding air travel options between the two cities from 30 March 2026.

Tickets go on sale immediately, with introductory one-way fares starting from $49, positioning the route as a low-cost alternative for both leisure and business travellers. The new flights strengthen JetBlue’s presence in the Midwest while reinforcing New York as one of its core focus cities.

The New York–Cleveland route becomes JetBlue’s second nonstop service from Cleveland, joining its existing flights to Boston. Operating daily on the airline’s A220 aircraft, the service is designed to improve connectivity for passengers in Northeast Ohio, offering not only direct access to New York City but also onward connections to dozens of destinations across the US, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe.

A new gateway for Cleveland travellers

JetBlue positions the new route as a strategic expansion for Cleveland, linking the city more closely with its New York hub at JFK. From there, passengers can connect to popular leisure destinations including Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, San Juan, Punta Cana, Aruba and Cancun, as well as access daytime services to London Heathrow and flights operated by JetBlue’s global airline partners.

“New York is not only a great destination and business hub, but it’s now another JetBlue gateway for Clevelanders and Northeast Ohioans,” said Dave Jehn, Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships. “With our new route, Cleveland customers can choose what works best for them, unlocking even more access to JetBlue’s growing leisure network.”

For Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, the announcement underlines its role as a regional aviation hub. The airport has focused in recent years on attracting new routes that improve global connectivity without requiring passengers to rely on traditional legacy airline hubs. The addition of daily JetBlue service to JFK further supports that strategy.

“This new nonstop route unlocks exciting new travel options for our passengers,” said Scott C. Carr, Assistant Director, Commercial Business and Revenue. “Additionally, it further strengthens CLE as Northeast Ohio’s Gateway to the World.”

Flights will operate daily, with late evening departures from New York and early morning returns from Cleveland, a schedule aimed at maximising convenience for business travellers while still appealing to leisure passengers planning short breaks or longer holidays. JetBlue lists Flight 2768 operating from JFK to CLE and Flight 2769 operating in the reverse direction.

What passengers can expect on board

The route will be served by JetBlue’s A220 aircraft, which form a key part of the airline’s narrowbody fleet. Passengers can expect the airline’s standard onboard offering, including fast, free and unlimited Fly-Fi, seatback entertainment at every seat, and complimentary snacks and drinks. JetBlue continues to market this combination as a way to differentiate itself in competitive short-haul markets.

JetBlue’s expansion also reflects wider trends in US domestic travel, where airlines increasingly focus on point-to-point routes between mid-sized cities and major hubs. By offering low introductory fares, JetBlue aims to stimulate demand while encouraging travellers who might otherwise drive or connect through other airports to fly instead.

The $49 launch fare applies to one-way tickets booked directly through JetBlue’s website, where the airline says customers are guaranteed its lowest available prices. Booking direct also allows passengers to access the full range of JetBlue fare options, promotions and loyalty benefits, including earning TrueBlue points, participating in points pooling, and selecting seats or upgrading to Even More seating.

From JetBlue’s perspective, the new Cleveland service complements its broader dominance at JFK. The airline describes itself as New York’s hometown carrier and notes that it is the largest airline between JFK and destinations in Latin America, the Caribbean and Florida, while also offering the most departures from JFK to California.

For Cleveland travellers, the timing of the launch at the start of the 2026 spring travel season may prove significant. With summer holidays, major events and peak leisure demand approaching, the new route offers an additional option at a time when airfares on popular corridors often rise sharply.

As competition intensifies on US domestic routes, JetBlue’s move highlights how secondary markets such as Cleveland are becoming increasingly important battlegrounds. By pairing a major hub like New York with low fares and a strong onboard product, the airline is betting that demand will extend beyond introductory offers and sustain the route long term.

For now, the appeal is straightforward: a daily nonstop link between Cleveland and New York, competitive pricing, and easier access to JetBlue’s wider network. Whether for business meetings, weekend city breaks or onward international journeys, the new service reshapes how Northeast Ohio connects with one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.
