Korean Air Launches Cultural Program for International Flight Crew

Korean Air has introduced “Dive into K-style,” a new cultural immersion program tailored for its international flight crew.

This initiative gives new hires the chance to immerse themselves in Korean culture through various hands-on experiences.

In 2024, Korean Air is conducting three culture programs for its new international crew members.

In August, new Japanese flight attendants visited a Korean traditional culture and etiquette center in Incheon, where they participated in making traditional Korean tea and sweets.

In early October, flight attendants from Southeast Asia took part in a program at Namsangol Hanok Village in Seoul, where they learned about Korean customs, experienced a traditional tea ceremony, explored historical architecture, and enjoyed various dishes such as buchujeon (chive pancakes), kimchi jjim (braised kimchi), and bossam (napa wraps with steamed pork).

A similar program is scheduled for new crew members from China in December.

Korean Air resumed its international cabin crew recruitment this year after a four-year hiatus, welcoming 85 new hires from Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and China.

A fourth recruitment phase is currently underway, with new hires expected to join in December.

The airline aims to recruit an additional 200 more international flight attendants next year.

The airline’s recruitment strategy not only enhances passenger experience by offering a culturally diverse service but also strengthens Korean Air’s global presence.

A multicultural crew brings unique perspectives, helping the airline connect with its diverse international customer base.

Korean Air is committed to building a world-class global workforce. Through comprehensive language and cultural integration programs, the airline will continue to support its team in delivering exceptional service.
