Lagardère Travel Retail has opened nine foodservice concepts across ten locations and six new RELAY stores at Frankfurt Airport’s new Terminal 3, marking the company’s largest single expansion in Germany.
The new terminal, which opened on 22 April 2026, operates under the theme “Heart of Europe” and has a capacity of up to 19 million passengers per year.
The foodservice offer spans the terminal’s central marketplace, Non-Schengen area, Non-Schengen Pier, and arrival hall. Lagardère Travel Retail operates a total of 16 units across food, dining, and retail in the new terminal.
The dining lineup includes several exclusive openings. NENI Deli makes its world premiere at Terminal 3, bringing Levantine-Mediterranean cuisine developed in collaboration with the Molcho family. EL&N London® makes its first appearance at a German airport, while MAIN BISSEN serves regional Frankfurt classics in a contemporary setting. ZIGOLINI offers Italian pizza, focaccia, and tramezzini, and BREAD & BITE focuses on freshly baked sandwiches with seasonal ingredients. The selection is completed by Burger King in its latest format, alongside Haferkater, Daily Deli, and Brezelmeister.
The six new RELAY stores offer press products, books, travel essentials, toys, souvenirs, beverages, coffee, electronics, and tobacco and vaping products. The stores also feature daily fresh grab-and-go food from NENI Deli, Natoo, and Manga Sushi, with modern self-checkout terminals available for faster purchases.
Lagardère Travel Retail says it is the only concessionaire operating both retail and foodservice at this scale within Terminal 3, and describes the opening as a key driver for its further growth strategy in Germany. The company generated annual revenue of more than €258 million in Germany in 2025 and operates more than 200 stores across 10 airports, more than 30 railway stations, 8 zoos, and 3 US military bases in the country.
“The opening today is a significant milestone and a true accolade for our team. As a long-standing partner of Frankfurt Airport, we are extremely proud of this strong collaboration. Our commitment was to go the extra mile for this special project and to offer our guests tailor-made concepts that will be remembered,” said Jochen Halfmann, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Germany.
“We would like to warmly congratulate Fraport and our local team on the successful opening of Terminal 3, which marks an important milestone for Frankfurt Airport and for Lagardère Travel Retail. Germany remains one of the key driving markets for European travel retail, setting high standards in terms of innovation, passenger experience, and operational excellence,” said Lucio Rossetto, Regional COO Europe at Lagardère Travel Retail.
“Retail at Frankfurt Airport is far more than an additional offering for us. Shopping, dining, and services make a decisive contribution to the quality of stay and the passenger experience. Through a well-executed staging, they turn Terminal 3 into a place where passengers enjoy spending time. We are delighted to welcome Lagardère Travel Retail here as a strong foodservice partner,” said Julia Kranenberg, Chief Human Resources Officer on the Executive Board of Fraport AG, responsible for the Retail and Real Estate segment.
Globally, Lagardère Travel Retail operates more than 4,800 shops across more than 50 countries, generating annual revenue of €8 billion in 2025.
