Star Clippers launches Star Flyer’s 2027 Greek Island Sailings

Star Clippers has introduced a new collection of 2027 Greek Island sailings, which are newly designed to showcase smaller, lesser-visited ports across the Aegean—destinations inaccessible to larger cruise ships. These special 2027 Greek Island sailings are now open for booking, with departures throughout the spring and fall seasons.

Star Clippers’ 2027 programme focuses on sailing into intimate harbours, working waterfronts, and quiet coastal towns where daily life unfolds just steps from the quay. Aboard the 166-guest Star Flyer, guests experience the Greek Islands at a more personal scale, arriving directly in to the heart of each destination.

Itineraries

Among the new Star Flyer itineraries is the ”Authentic Greek Escape”, a seven-night Athens round-trip sailing beginning May 1, 2027. This voyage blends lesser-visited islands with culturally rich coastal destinations, including Astypalea and Sifnos. Guests also explore Symi’s colorful waterfront and Patmos’ historic monasteries, while a stop in Fethiye along Turkey’s Turquoise Coast adds an international dimension. With shorter sailing distances and more time ashore, the itinerary focuses on the depth of experiences. Sailing dates are May 1, Jul 3, Sep 4 and Oct 2, 2027 at rates starting at $2,500 per person, double, including port charges.

The 11-night “Eastern Mediterranean Escape” is a port-intensive journey that runs between Istanbul and Antalya, focusing on the Turkish Riviera combined with select Greek island stops. The Star Flyer spends the first day in Istanbul before calling at ports such as Dikili (gateway to ancient Pergamon), Cesme and Bozcaada along Turkey’s Aegean coast, and Fethiye and Ka where there is access to Lycian ruins and turquoise-water anchorages.

Greek highlights like Patmos and Samos are woven in, adding monastic history and traditional island life to the mix. The routing emphasises smaller ports and varied geography—from historic trading centres to quiet seaside towns—creating a detailed, destination-driven. Fares for the May 29 and July 24, 2027 sailing dates start at $3,740 for 11 nights and $3,350 for the 10-night reverse sailing on June 9 and Aug 4, 2027 – inclusive or port charges.

Rounding out the highlights, the “Aegean Gems” seven-night itinerary, sailing aboard the Star Flyer in May 2027, focuses on the northern Greek Islands. Stops in Skiros, Skopelos, and Poros. These destinations underscore the advantage of tall-ship sailing—access to smaller ports that larger ships simply cannot reach. Sailing dates are May 15, Aug 21 and Sept 18, 2027 with rates from $2,500 including port charges.

Quieter and more sustainable way to travel

Unlike conventional cruise ships, Star Clippers’ vessels sail under wind power whenever possible—often up to 80 percent of the time—creating a quieter, more sustainable way to travel. The absence of engine noise, replaced by the sound of wind filling the sails, allows guests to connect more deeply with both the journey and the destination, while significantly reducing environmental impact.

On board, guests enjoy a relaxed, yacht-like atmosphere with open bridge access, expansive teak decks and opportunities to participate in the sailing experience, from hoisting sails to climbing the mast for panoramic views.
