Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort Unveils Kilolani Spa

Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Maui, is thrilled to unveil the Kilolani Spa, a new standard in luxury open-air spas. Surrounded by Hawaii’s breathtaking natural beauty, Kilolani Spa stands as the state’s largest spa facility, reflecting the heritage of its prestigious location and celebrating local traditions.

At an impressive 50,000 square feet, the spa is a sanctuary of wellness and culture. JP Oliver, the resort’s managing director, highlights Kilolani Spa’s commitment to incorporating Maui’s wellness traditions with the latest spa innovations.

With a $55 million investment, Kilolani Spa features 40 treatment rooms, including special suites for couples, and a variety of relaxation and treatment areas. These include a meditation lounge, halotherapy saunas, a hammam, and hydrothermal gardens, offering a comprehensive wellness journey.

The spa’s unique concept draws inspiration from the Hawaiian moon calendar, a collaboration between the resort’s cultural team, TLEE Spas + Wellness, and Rachael McCrory. This approach ensures a deep connection to Hawaiian culture and indigenous healing practices.

Tracy Lee of TLEE Spas expressed excitement about introducing guests to an experience deeply rooted in Hawaiian wellness traditions. The spa’s offerings are designed to align with the lunar calendar, featuring treatments that utilize native botanicals and signature Maui-crafted products.

A novel approach to sound healing combines harmonic therapy with traditional Hawaiian Oli chants, curated by Kalei Uwekoolani, aiming to rejuvenate the spirit and improve wellbeing.

Designed by Tihany Design, the spa’s layout maximizes the stunning Hawaiian landscape, offering a blend of social and intimate spaces. The Hydrothermal Gardens and the state’s only Hammam provide a unique communal wellness experience.

The spa’s Meditation and Reflection Lounges offer spaces for mental rejuvenation, complemented by scenic ocean views. Additionally, Kilolani Spa introduces Hawaii’s first biostation, alongside advanced fitness equipment and classes, catering to a holistic wellness philosophy.

Guests can explore a curated retail space featuring local products and a wellness café with selections from Erewhon. For more details or to book a spa experience, visitors are encouraged to check the spa’s website.

Kilolani Spa is open daily, inviting guests to explore its comprehensive wellness offerings from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
