Jeju Convention & Visitors Bureau (JejuCVB) is carrying out a large-scale Green MICE policy to make Jeju lead the global Green New Deal in South Korea and become a Green MICE Destination.
First of all, the “Green MICE Slogan and Idea Contest” was held for the entire nation of South Korea in March 2021.
In addition, JejuCVB and the Jeju International Convention Center (ICC JEJU), Jeju’s representative MICE institutions, are seeking to obtain ISO 20121 (Event Sustainability Management System) international certification.
In July, the “Green MICE Forum” was held with the goal of “minimizing the use of disposable goods, using fair trade products, and using tumblers”, which was organized by JejuCVB, and provided keynote lectures on sustainability topics, special lectures, and the introduction of Green MICE manuals.
The “2021 6th Jeju MICE Expo“, scheduled to be held in November, will be presented as the World’s representative Green MICE city through simultaneous hosting of the “Jeju Green MICE City Declaration Ceremony” and “Compliance with the Green MICE manual”.
Jeju Green MICE Manual: Customized manuals for sustainable event operation at organizers, participants, participating companies, and facilities in each field, such as Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition of the MICE industry.
As such, Jeju is moving forward to grow beyond Asia’s representative resort MICE Destination with the goal of becoming the “sustainable MICE host city“, the world’s representative Green MICE city.
