Motorsport fans will gather at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia this weekend as the track hosts the NAPA Racing Weekend on October 18 and 19.
Organized by the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation, the event features seven races across multiple national series, with free public access to the grandstands and paddock.
The Spanish Formula 4 Championship headlines the weekend’s program as the penultimate round of the 2025 season. Belgian driver Thomas Strauven enters the event as the clear title favorite, holding a 110-point lead over Dutch competitors Rene Lammers and Ean Eyckmans. Spain’s Juan Cota, currently fifth in the standings, will represent the leading local contender in the field.
Formula 4 and Toyota GR Cup highlight the program
Following rounds at Motorland, Navarra, Portimão, Paul Ricard, and Jerez, the Formula 4 grid arrives in Cheste for three decisive races. The first will take place on Saturday, followed by two on Sunday, when large crowds are expected at the circuit. The series has become a key stepping stone for young drivers aiming for professional motorsport careers and has drawn growing public interest in Spain’s domestic racing calendar.
Complementing Formula 4, the fifth round of the Toyota GR Cup will bring together one of Spain’s strongest one-make series. Daniel Losada leads the championship ahead of Marcos de Diego and Ignacio Rodríguez, with all three expected to battle for podium positions over the two days. The single-make format, featuring identical Toyota GR models, emphasizes driver skill and close competition — a key appeal for spectators and competitors alike.
The weekend’s schedule will conclude with the Spanish GT-CET Championship, featuring high-performance sports cars and touring models. This mix of professional and semi-professional drivers will provide one of the most diverse grids of the event, with GT supercars sharing the track with production-based vehicles. The inclusion of multiple racing disciplines reflects the NAPA Racing Weekend’s goal of showcasing national motorsport across various categories.
Family activities and open access for fans
The NAPA Racing Weekend will combine on-track action with public activities at Circuit Ricardo Tormo’s paddock and spectator zones. Fans will be able to access the pit area, attend exhibitions, and enjoy live demonstrations throughout both days. Organizers have announced free entry to the main grandstand and paddock area, allowing visitors to experience the event up close without tickets or prior registration.
Outside the racing schedule, the paddock will host exhibitions and entertainment, including drift demonstrations, a display of classic and modern vehicles, and a food truck zone. The combination of competitive racing and public attractions aims to create a festival atmosphere and encourage attendance among families and casual motorsport enthusiasts.
According to the organizers, free access to the facility reflects an effort to make Spanish motorsport more inclusive and to strengthen its fan base. Circuit Ricardo Tormo, located in Cheste just outside Valencia, has long been one of Spain’s key motorsport venues, hosting national and international competitions such as MotoGP, World Superbike, and European GT series. The circuit’s accessibility and amenities make it an ideal site for large-scale public events like the NAPA Racing Weekend.
With favorable weather conditions forecast for the weekend, local tourism authorities expect an increase in visitor traffic to the region. The event is anticipated to draw spectators from across the Valencian Community and neighboring regions, generating additional activity in nearby hotels, restaurants, and transport services.
The NAPA Racing Weekend also represents the continued expansion of Spain’s motorsport calendar under the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation. By hosting major national championships in a single venue, the format provides fans with a comprehensive experience of different racing disciplines and highlights the country’s emerging talent in categories such as Formula 4 and GT racing.
Beyond its sporting appeal, the event reinforces Valencia’s reputation as one of Spain’s most versatile destinations for motorsport and outdoor events. Circuit Ricardo Tormo’s modern facilities and proximity to the Mediterranean coast make it a regular stop for racing teams, test programs, and large-scale festivals. For visitors, the combination of free admission and high-caliber competition offers a rare opportunity to experience elite racing within a major European venue at no cost.
With seven races across two days and activities for all ages, the NAPA Racing Weekend is set to deliver one of the season’s most dynamic motorsport experiences in Spain. For the thousands of fans expected in Cheste, it will be a celebration of speed, talent, and accessibility — a showcase of how national racing continues to attract new audiences while supporting the next generation of drivers.
