LOT promotes Istanbul to Gdansk route with low fares and free baggage

LOT Polish Airlines is promoting its direct route between Istanbul and Gdansk with a limited-time ticket offer starting at USD 100 one way, with checked baggage included. The promotion applies to all regular flights between the two cities, with tickets available for purchase until 30 April 2026.

The fares include up to 8 kg of carry-on baggage and up to 23 kg of checked baggage, giving passengers additional value compared with many low-cost travel options in Europe. The airline says the offer is designed to encourage both business and leisure travel between Turkey and northern Poland.

The direct connection links Istanbul, one of the largest aviation hubs in the region, with Gdansk, a historic port city on Poland’s Baltic Sea coast. The route offers travellers a convenient option for reaching northern Poland without the need for connecting flights.

Gdansk is widely known for its historic old town, which features colourful merchant houses and landmarks such as Dluga Street and the Neptune Fountain. The city attracts visitors year-round with cultural festivals, markets and events, including the long-running Dominican Fair, which draws tourists from across Europe.

The city is also associated with amber craftsmanship, a tradition that remains an important part of the local economy and cultural identity. Shops and markets across the historic centre sell jewellery and handicrafts made from Baltic amber, a natural material found along the region’s coastline.

Beyond tourism, Gdansk plays a major role in the Baltic maritime economy. The Port of Gdansk is one of the most important seaports in the region and serves as a key hub for international trade, supported by a well-developed logistics network and strong shipbuilding and offshore industries.

In recent years, the city has also expanded its presence in technology and modern services. Business services centres, IT companies and research institutions continue to attract international investment, contributing to the city’s growing reputation as both a commercial and innovation hub in Central and Eastern Europe.

The direct flights between Istanbul and Gdansk strengthen economic and tourism links between Poland and Turkey. Improved connectivity supports collaboration in sectors such as maritime industries, energy and technology while also making it easier for travellers to explore the Baltic region.

With competitive fares and baggage included, the airline aims to position the route as an accessible option for travellers looking for a northern European city break or a convenient business connection.
