The Ministry of National Defense of Turkey has reported a groundbreaking turnout at Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, in Ankara, with 1,182,425 visitors on the occasion of the October 29 Republic Day, setting a new attendance record.
In a statement released by the Ministry, it was noted:
“We extend our deepest gratitude to the 1,182,425 visitors who poured into Anıtkabir, shattering previous visitor records on the occasion of October 29 Republic Day, as well as to all our citizens who were unable to visit due to the overwhelming crowds. On this 100th anniversary of our Republic, we once again pay our respects to our founder and Commander-in-Chief, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as well as to the heroes of our National Struggle, with reverence and mercy.”
Anıtkabir, located in the heart of Ankara, the capital city of Turkey, stands as a symbol of the country’s rich history and is a significant site of pilgrimage for both Turkish citizens and international visitors wishing to pay their respects to Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey.
