Turkish Airlines has said it will restart flights between Istanbul and Dubai from 9 June, after suspending the route because of tensions in the Middle East.
The airline halted services after some countries in the region closed their airspace during the conflict between the United States and Iran, which began on 28 February.
The first restored service will depart Istanbul for Dubai at 01:30 on 9 June, according to information from the Turkish Airlines communications department.
The decision brings back one of the carrier’s direct routes to the United Arab Emirates after weeks of disruption caused by regional security concerns. Turkish Airlines had paused the service when flight operations across parts of the Middle East became more difficult.
Dubai is one of the busiest destinations in the airline’s network and a major transit point for passengers travelling between Europe, Asia and the Gulf. The restart is likely to matter to both business and leisure travellers who use the route regularly.
Airlines across the region have faced repeated schedule changes in recent months as conflicts and airspace restrictions have affected normal operations. Carriers have had to adjust routes, add longer flight times or suspend services altogether when conditions changed.
For Turkish Airlines, the return of Dubai flights is a sign that some suspended links are beginning to recover as the situation stabilises enough for operations to resume. The airline has not said whether any other Middle East routes remain affected.
The move also highlights how quickly regional events can affect international aviation. A single airspace closure can ripple through flight networks, causing cancellations, delays and knock-on disruption for passengers far beyond the immediate conflict zone.
Dubai remains an important hub for connecting flights and a major travel market in its own right. Restoring the Istanbul-Dubai link may help ease demand pressure on alternative routes and provide more options for travellers planning journeys to the Gulf.
Turkish Airlines did not announce any change to its wider schedule beyond the Dubai service, and no additional details were provided about capacity or frequency.
