Porsche to Integrate AirConsole In-Car Gaming in New Macan

Porsche announced it will integrate the AirConsole in-car gaming platform into the new Macan, with availability expected by the end of 2025.

The collaboration will allow passengers to access a curated library of multiplayer and casual games directly through the vehicle’s infotainment system, controlled via smartphones.

The rollout will extend to all markets where Porsche Connect is available, excluding China. The announcement underscores Porsche’s strategy to enhance in-car entertainment while ensuring safety through screen privacy features that prevent driver distraction.

Gaming on the Move

When the vehicle is parked, all passengers, including the driver, can play games together on the central infotainment screen. While driving, non-driving occupants can continue gaming on the front passenger display, while the driver remains focused on the road. AirConsole’s design emphasizes seamless integration and short-session gameplay suited to travel environments.

“Our collaboration with Porsche is a powerful signal of how quickly AirConsole is scaling in the automotive industry. In just two years since launching our in-car platform, we’ve partnered with some of the world’s most respected car brands, now including Porsche,” said Anthony Cliquot, CEO of AirConsole.

“This momentum confirms that gaming has a meaningful place in the future of mobility, and we’re proud to be leading that evolution.”

IAA Motor Show Announcement

Porsche and AirConsole will present further details of the partnership at the IAA Motor Show in Munich on September 10. Cliquot will join Porsche representatives to discuss the role of in-car gaming in mobility and its significance for the brand’s customer experience strategy. The session will take place at 1 p.m. at the Porsche booth.

Access and Setup

AirConsole will be accessible through the Porsche App Center, included in the Porsche Connect package. Setup requires no additional hardware: passengers simply scan a QR code to link their smartphones, which then function as game controllers. The platform supports up to five players, allowing collaborative or competitive sessions across the cabin.

Curated Game Library

The AirConsole catalog features titles designed for casual and group play, spanning racing, trivia, party, and sports genres. Popular games include Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? from Sony Pictures Television, Overcooked from Team17, and UNO® Car Party! from Mattel. With over 40 titles already released since 2023, AirConsole continues to expand its offering for automotive partners.

Headquartered in Zurich, the startup has positioned itself as a leader in in-car gaming by managing integration with automakers and collaborating with third-party studios. Porsche’s adoption signals a growing trend of automakers using digital content to differentiate passenger experiences in premium vehicles.

The new Macan equipped with AirConsole will be available in late 2025, with Porsche highlighting the feature as part of its broader digital services strategy for connected mobility.
