Qatar Airways Sponsors Prestigious Qatar Goodwood Festival for Fifth Consecutive Year

For the fifth time this summer, Qatar Airways is set to sponsor the prestigious Qatar Goodwood Festival, one of the most prominent equestrian events in partnership with Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC).

The festival is scheduled to be held at the Goodwood Racecourse from August 1 to 5, 2023.

The Qatar Goodwood Festival, enhanced with the charm of the English countryside, will be attended by the national guests of Qatar in London. The festival provides a platform for local horses and riders to showcase their skills, and it is a significant event for the award-winning airline, Qatar Airways.

His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, the Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, expressed immense pleasure in sponsoring the Qatar Goodwood Festival. He emphasized that horseracing is deeply embedded in Qatar’s cultural history and is a symbol of national passion. According to him, the festival creates a fusion of tradition and glamour, amplified by the adrenaline suitable for all racegoers. He wished all the participants the best of luck.

Horseracing has been a staple at Goodwood since 1802, introduced by the 3rd Duke of Richmond. Today, the venue hosts 19 unique race days, including the Qatar Goodwood Festival.

As part of Qatar Airways’ vision of bringing communities together through sports, the airline is also a sponsor for the Qatar Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe, which will take place in Paris Longchamp, in addition to other equestrian festivals, such as H.H. The Amir Sword Festival and the Qatar International Derby.
