Dubai Airports Resume Limited Operations; Doha Flights Suspended

Limited airport operations resumed in Dubai on Tuesday, 3 March, with a small number of flights departing from Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central, while all flights in Doha remain suspended amid ongoing regional airspace restrictions.

Dubai Airports confirmed that select services are now operating from both DXB and DWC, but warned that schedules remain subject to change. Authorities have urged passengers not to travel to the airport unless they have received a confirmed departure time directly from their airline.

Travelers who have been notified of a confirmed departure are also advised to check their terminal carefully before heading to the airport. Dubai Airports said the latest flight information should be obtained directly from airline websites or mobile apps, as operational updates continue to evolve.

The partial reopening marks a cautious step toward restoring connectivity through one of the world’s busiest international transit hubs. Dubai International Airport typically handles tens of millions of passengers annually and serves as a key link between Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia.

In contrast, operations in Doha remain fully suspended. Qatar Airways announced that all flights will remain grounded until further notice. The airline said services will resume only “once the Civil Aviation Authority announces the safe reopening of the airspace,” adding that a further operational update is expected on Wednesday morning.

The suspension underscores the continuing impact of regional airspace closures on Middle East aviation. Doha’s Hamad International Airport is a major global hub, and the halt in operations has disrupted long-haul connections across multiple continents.

Airlines across the region have been adjusting schedules, rerouting aircraft and cancelling services as authorities assess airspace safety. Thousands of passengers remain affected by cancellations and delays, with knock-on effects extending to Europe, Asia and beyond.

For now, aviation activity in the Gulf remains uneven. While Dubai has begun restoring limited operations under strict advisory guidance, Doha’s reopening will depend on formal clearance from Qatari aviation authorities.

Passengers are advised to monitor their airlines’ communications and avoid travelling to airports without confirmed departure details. Further updates are expected as regional airspace assessments continue.
