China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel warning through its WeChat account, cautioning Chinese citizens about recent incidents involving unlawful interrogations and harassment by police at American airports.
The warning highlighted instances where Chinese students and corporate employees were subjected to exhaustive searches of their phones, computers, and other personal items, with some even being denied entry into the country.
The Ministry emphasized that travelers to the U.S. might encounter similar situations, urging caution.
It was also noted that the Ministry, along with China’s Embassy in Washington and its consulates in the U.S., have protested to American authorities regarding these issues.
