Experience Turks and Caicos, the exclusive tourism authority for the Turks and Caicos Islands, announced strong tourism growth following a record 2025, with total visitation reaching 2 million, and January 2026 stayover arrivals rising 2 percent year over year.
The destination is expanding its luxury accommodation portfolio with several new resorts and developments opening throughout 2026, as it builds on sustained demand from key markets including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
From January to December 2025, stayover arrivals reached 640,754, while cruise tourism brought approximately 1.3 million passengers, marking a 5 percent increase over 2024. December performance strengthened across both segments, with stayover arrivals up 7 percent and cruise passenger numbers rising 22 percent year over year, supported by additional ship calls in Grand Turk.
The growth follows a 30 percent rise in cruise arrivals in 2024, with momentum continuing into 2025 as the islands strengthened their position as a leading Caribbean port of call. In December alone, 129,346 cruise passengers visited, reflecting expanded capacity and increased ship berthing.
Tourism expansion has coincided with improvements in public safety. Authorities report a 40 percent reduction in violent crime over the past year, supported by enhanced policing and safety measures. The developments reinforce the destination’s positioning as a high-end, low-density Caribbean escape with a focus on visitor security.
“We are proud to see the Turks and Caicos Islands maintain such strong and consistent tourism performance,” said Paul Pennicook, Interim CEO Consultant of Experience Turks and Caicos.
“Our continued growth reflects the enduring appeal of our islands, the strength of our partnerships and trust by valued operators, and our commitment to delivering an exceptional visitor experience. As we welcome new developments, we remain focused on thoughtful expansion that preserves the peaceful ambiance and natural beauty that defines our destination.”
Several new luxury properties are opening or scheduled to debut in 2026 to meet rising demand. These include a mix of boutique resorts, large-scale expansions, and residential developments designed to maintain the islands’ low-density approach.
Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos opened on March 1, 2026, as a 56-room resort near Grace Bay Beach. The property features an infinity pool, restaurant, café, outdoor cinema, and curated experiences such as snorkeling excursions.
Beaches Turks & Caicos introduced its $150 million Treasure Beach Village expansion on the same date, adding 101 multi-bedroom suites and villas, including concierge and butler options. The development also includes three-story villas designed for larger groups, with private pools and rooftop decks.
Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay is set to open in spring 2026 as the destination’s first Hyatt-branded property, offering 59 hotel rooms and 74 residences along the beachfront. Later in the year, Grace Bay Resorts will launch The Point, a residential development featuring oceanfront homes.
These projects are expected to broaden the destination’s offering while introducing new dining concepts, wellness facilities, and curated guest experiences. The developments are also anticipated to support employment opportunities across the local tourism sector.
Officials expect tourism growth to continue through 2026, supported by steady demand, expanded accommodation capacity, and ongoing investments in infrastructure and safety.
