Minor Hotels to Open Anantara Resort and Residences in Turks and Caicos in 2029

Minor Hotels has announced plans to bring its luxury Anantara brand to the Caribbean for the first time, with a resort and residential development set to open in Turks and Caicos in 2029.

Anantara Turks and Caicos Resort & Residences will be built along the Sandy Point coastline of North Caicos and will feature 78 branded residences, including a collection of beachfront villas available for private ownership.

Miami-based architecture and design firm RAD and Meyer Davis, known for its work on luxury hospitality and residential projects, will shape the development. The firm has been tasked with bringing a contemporary sensibility to the island’s natural setting through generous indoor-outdoor living spaces.

North Caicos, known as the “Garden Island”, offers a quieter and more naturally preserved environment than the better-known Providenciales. The island is defined by its long coastlines, privacy and unspoilt beaches, and sits 575 miles southeast of Miami with direct flight connections from major US and Canadian hubs.

Wellness, dining and outdoor living

The resort will include a full-service Anantara Spa drawing on native species, medicinal plants and flowering botanicals from on-site gardens. An observatory will offer stargazing experiences guided by lunar cycles and planetary alignments, alongside sleep-focused programmes and sunrise practices.

Sport and leisure facilities will include a fitness centre, yoga studios, tennis, padel and pickleball courts, a water sports centre and multiple pools. A private marina will connect the resort to surrounding cays and the wider archipelago.

Dining will feature herb-led infusions and ingredients sourced from on-site orchards and gardens. Beachfront venues, a wine cellar and a sunset rooftop bar will form part of the food and beverage offering.

Expansion in the Americas

Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International, said the announcement marked a significant milestone for the group. “The Turks and Caicos Islands are among the world’s most recognised luxury destinations, and North Caicos provides an ideal setting for our experiential and sustainability-driven approach to hospitality,” he said.

Caroline Domange, CEO of Octans and co-founder of Cheval Blanc for LVMH, is part of the project’s ownership team. “Very few destinations offer the convenient access to both the serenity, and extraordinary turquoise water, beaches and natural beauty that have made Providenciales globally renowned,” she said.

Locally-based developer Rob Ayer, also part of the ownership team, said the vision from the outset had been to build on everything that had always made Turks and Caicos compelling, “while offering the original experience of the destination.”

The Honourable Charles Washington Misick, Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, welcomed the development. “The world-renowned Anantara brand and the exceptional attention to detail and emphasis on holistic experiences have become hallmarks of their properties around the world,” he said. “It is a natural fit for the deeply embedded culture of well-being in North Caicos.”

Anantara Turks and Caicos Resort & Residences is the fifth Anantara property announced in the Americas. Two resorts are currently under development in Brazil, one in Ushuaia in southern Argentina, and one in Miami. Minor Hotels also recently announced that its luxury brand The Wolseley Hotels will open its first property in New York in early 2027.

The resort will be accessible via Providenciales International Airport followed by a private boat transfer to the resort’s marina, or via North Caicos Airport, which is currently undergoing redevelopment to improve private-flight access. Branded residences are now available for pre-sale.
