Minor Hotels signs Colbert Collection Koh Samui and Avani Koh Phangan

Minor Hotels has signed two new resort properties in Thailand with Rasa Group, adding Colbert Collection Koh Samui and Avani Koh Phangan to its growing portfolio in the country.

The deals mark the debut of the Colbert Collection brand in Asia and expand the group’s presence in two of Thailand’s best-known island destinations.

Both resorts will transition to Minor Hotels management on 1 May 2026. Rebranding for each property is scheduled for Q1 2027 following renovation programmes.

Colbert Collection Koh Samui is a 32-key beachfront resort on Chaweng Beach, currently operating as Buri Rasa Village Samui. The property is located 15 minutes from Samui International Airport and will join Minor Hotels’ existing cluster of resorts on Koh Samui.

Facilities are expected to include multiple dining venues, a swimming pool, fitness centre and spa. Minor Hotels already operates several properties on the island, including Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, Avani Chaweng Samui Hotel & Beach Club, Avani+ Samui Resort and NH Collection Samui Peace Resort.

Avani Koh Phangan is a 63-key beachfront resort on Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach, currently operating as Buri Rasa Village Phangan. The resort will offer room categories including pool access and oceanfront options, along with dining venues, a beachfront pool, AvaniKids club and AvaniFit gym.

The property sits next to Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas, further strengthening Minor Hotels’ footprint on the island.

“This dual signing represents a strategic step in expanding our presence in Southern Thailand across both our premium lifestyle and soft brand segments,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of Minor International.

He added: “Introducing Colbert Collection to Asia in Koh Samui and strengthening our resort portfolio in Koh Phangan with Avani allows us to further diversify our offering in destinations that continue to see strong international demand.”

“We are truly excited to deepen our long-standing partnership with Minor Hotels through these two exceptional projects,” said Rapi Pinijchob, CEO of Rasa Group.

Minor Hotels operates more than 640 properties across 63 countries. The company said the new signings support its wider strategy of expanding through management and franchise agreements in high-potential destinations.
