LAX Connection

Seamless Transitions at LAX: New Connector Links Terminal 3 to Tom Bradley

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has achieved a significant milestone with the recent inauguration of the connector between Terminal 3 and Tom Bradley International Terminal.

For the first time in its nearly 100-year history, LAX now offers passengers and airport staff uninterrupted pedestrian access across its terminals after clearing security. This revamped pathway stretches approximately 2 miles, spanning from Terminal 1 to Terminal 8.

Travelers can now effortlessly navigate between terminals to catch connecting flights. Additionally, they can explore a plethora of amenities, from diverse food and beverage options, shopping outlets, entertainment hubs, lounges, children’s play zones, to pet relief stations. This monumental change in LAX’s infrastructure is set to receive another boost with the anticipated launch of the Automated People Mover and its associated pedestrian bridges in 2024.

BOAC President Karim Webb emphasized the broader implications of this development, stating, “As we reshape LAX to enhance our guests’ experiences, we’re also creating economic opportunities for the local community and the broader Southern California region.”

He highlighted that the projects facilitating inter-terminal access post-security have generated employment for over 7,000 local workers, translating to wages exceeding half a billion dollars. The extended connection will further support the local community by promoting the growth of operations and concessions roles.

Justin Erbacci, Chief Executive Officer of LAWA, expressed his enthusiasm about the transformation, noting, “The benefits of LAX’s modernization are becoming evident. Passengers can now traverse from T1 to T8 post-security, eliminating the need for buses. This is a pivotal step among many aimed at making LAX travel efficient, reliable, and user-centric.”

This initiative is a testament to LAX’s commitment to forward-thinking modernization, ensuring a world-class experience for its users.
