SalamAir inaugurates non-stop Muscat – Vienna service

Starting on 24 June 2026, the Omani low-cost airline SalamAir is operating direct flight service from Muscat, the capital city of the Sultanate of Oman, to Vienna, the capital city of Austria.

The new direct flight connection will be offered three times per week effective immediately, providing travellers with quicker access to an aspiring destination in the Middle East featuring impressive desert landscapes, mountains, and a rich cultural heritage.

The airline is deploying a modern Airbus A320neo on this route. The flight connection was officially inaugurated at a photo session with Adrian Hamilton-Manns, CEO of SalamAir, Mazin Al Salmani, Director of Network, Alliances and Government Affairs of SalamAir, Omar Al-Rawi, member of the Vienna Provincial Parliament and of the Vienna City Council & Chairman of the Committee for Urban Development, Mobility and Vienna Municipal Utilities and Julian Jäger, Joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport.

SalamAir operates three weekly flights (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) between Vienna and Muscat with immediate effect. The flight takes off from Muscat at 8:35 a.m. and lands in Vienna at 1:30 p.m. The return flight leaves Vienna at 2:30 p.m. and arrives in Muscat at 10:30 p.m. Flight times will differ starting in September 2026. The airline is deploying a modern Airbus A321neo on this route. Moreover, passengers can transfer to fights leaving for Salalah at the Muscat flight hub as well as to numerous destinations in Saudi Arabia and India within the airline’s own route network.

Muscat – Gateway to multifaceted Oman

Starting now, Muscat – one of the most exciting destinations on the Arabian Peninsula – can be reached non-stop from Vienna. The capital city of the Sultanate of Oman fuses Oriental flair with a modern zest for life and excites visitors with sights such as the impressive Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the historic old town, and Muttrah Souq with its rich tradition. Several of the most spectacular landscapes in the entire region await people just a few hours from the city i.e., golden sand dunes, majestic mountain ranges, turquoise wadis, and kilometre-long sandy beaches on the Indian Ocean. Oman is considered to be an authentic travel destination off the beaten track from mass tourism, offering ideal conditions for cultural, nature and recreational holidays at the highest level.
