Divan Talya Hotel Reopens After 13-Year Closure in Antalya

Koç Holding’s Divan Talya Hotel is set to reopen on 1 July after being closed for 13 years, marking the return of one of Antalya’s best-known city hotels.

The 1975 property was Antalya’s first 5-star hotel. Marmaris Altınyunus, the hotel operator, said the hotel will begin commercial operations from 1 July 2026 and will first run a trial service phase before room sales start on 30 September 2026.

The company said the required renovations have been completed and the necessary permits have been obtained. The hotel has 176 rooms, 356 beds, 2 restaurants, 3 bars, 1 patisserie, seminar rooms, a spa and fitness area, and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

The reopening ends a long shutdown at a property closely tied to Koç Holding’s history. The company’s founder, Vehbi Koç, died there on 25 February 1996 at the age of 95. His room, 609, was not given to other guests after his death and remained unused until the hotel closed.

In its first phase, the hotel will host selected guests chosen by the company management. The aim is to address any remaining gaps before a full commercial launch later in the year.

The property will operate as an international standard city resort hotel in the luxury five-star segment. Its return adds a long-closed flagship name back into Antalya’s hotel market as tourism demand remains strong in the region.

Divan Talya has long held a symbolic place in Türkiye’s hospitality sector. As Antalya’s first five-star hotel, it became known not only for its size and facilities, but also for its connection to one of the country’s most prominent business families.

The reopening also reflects wider investment in upgraded tourism assets in major resort destinations. Antalya remains one of Türkiye’s leading travel hubs, drawing both domestic and overseas visitors throughout the year.
