Jamboree: A large gathering or celebration, often involving scouts or other youth organizations, characterized by activities, games, and camping. In a broader sense, it can refer to any large rally or assembly in a travel or tourism context.

Jaunt: A short journey or trip, especially one taken for pleasure or leisure, often implying spontaneity and a brief duration.

Jet Bridge: A movable connector which extends from an airport terminal gate to an aircraft, allowing passengers to board and disembark without being exposed to the outdoor elements.

Jet Lag: The fatigue and disorientation caused by traveling across multiple time zones, affecting the body’s internal clock or circadian rhythm.

Jet Set: A social group of wealthy individuals who frequently travel by jet for leisure, often associated with luxurious lifestyles and exclusive destinations.

Jet Skiing: A popular water sport and recreational activity where riders use a personal watercraft to travel over water, often available for rent at beach resorts and lakeside destinations.

Jetliner: A large jet aircraft designed for commercial passenger service, offering faster travel times over long distances compared to propeller-driven airplanes.

Jitney: A small bus or van that carries passengers on a regular route but without a fixed schedule, often used in areas with less formal public transport systems.

Joint Fare: A special fare for air travel that is offered by two or more airlines working together, allowing passengers to travel on multiple airlines under a single booking at a reduced rate.

Jones Act: A United States federal law that regulates maritime commerce in U.S. waters and between U.S. ports, requiring goods transported by water between U.S. ports to be carried on U.S.-flagged ships, constructed in the U.S., owned by U.S. citizens, and crewed by U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Journey: The act of traveling from one place to another, which can include short daily trips or longer international travels, encompassing all modes of transportation.

Journey Planner: A tool or service, often available online or as a mobile app, that helps travelers map out the most efficient route for their trip, taking into account various modes of transportation and schedules.

Jump Seat: An additional seat in the cockpit or cabin of an aircraft used by off-duty crew members or airline staff, sometimes made available to other non-revenue passengers under specific conditions.

Jungle Safari: An adventurous excursion into jungle or forested areas to observe wildlife and natural scenery, often conducted in national parks or conservation areas.

Junket: A trip or tour, often paid for by another party, where the travel is for business, promotional, or educational purposes. In the casino industry, it also refers to a trip offered to gamblers who are flown in to play at a particular casino.

Junior Suite: A type of hotel accommodation that offers more space than a standard room, often including a separate living area or additional amenities, catering to travelers seeking extra comfort.

Jurisdiction: The official power to make legal decisions and judgments, affecting travel through regulations, visa requirements, and law enforcement in different territories.

Just-In-Time (JIT) Tourism: A concept where travelers make their travel arrangements at the last minute, often facilitated by online bookings and mobile technology, allowing for spontaneous travel plans.
