A new international hospitality brand is expanding across Europe with a pipeline that stretches from the olive groves of Tuscany to the concert halls of Stockholm.
Miramis, owned by Swedish investment company Qarlbo AB, announced its international expansion, revealing a growing portfolio of hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues and wellness destinations rooted in local culture and community.
The brand’s most imminent projects include the transformation of Stockholm’s historic Hasselbacken hotel, a new agricultural estate in Magliano, Tuscany, and the addition of Gasometer, a landmark live performance venue in the Swedish capital. Both La Capitana in Tuscany and Gasometer in Stockholm are scheduled to open in 2027.
Where it all began: the Tuscan coast
Miramis traces its origins to Porto Ercole on the Argentario peninsula, where LA ROQQA boutique hotel and Isolotto Beach Club already operate. The hotel draws on family memories of summers in Argentario, mixing contemporary design with 1960s La Dolce Vita inspiration. Isolotto Beach Club transformed the area’s only sandy stretch of coastline into a gathering point for locals and visiting travellers.
The brand’s Argentario presence continues to grow, with the full refurbishment of Hotel Torre di Cala Piccola underway and the Ex-Cirio urban regeneration project set to introduce a dedicated wellness offering in the port.
La Capitana: 12 suites and a working wine estate in Tuscany
Miramis heads inland in 2027 with La Capitana, a countryside estate in Magliano in the hills and valleys of Tuscany. The property will offer just 12 suites, alongside working olive oil production and a winery, positioning it firmly within the slow travel movement. Renowned Italian architect Marco Casamonti is leading the architectural vision, bringing a contemporary sensibility to the rural landscape while keeping the project grounded in Tuscan tradition.
La Capitana is conceived as a place for slow living, an opportunity for guests to embrace local traditions and attune to the rhythm of seasonal change. The estate represents what the brand describes as a defining project, guiding Miramis toward deeper engagement with land, craft and Tuscan heritage.
Stockholm: heritage hotels, live opera and a chef of the year
In Sweden, Miramis is transforming the historic Hasselbacken hotel into its Swedish flagship following a landmark renovation of the heritage property. The Stockholm portfolio also includes Backstage Hotel and Cirkus Arena, both part of the brand’s next phase of development in the city.
Gasometer, joining the portfolio in 2027, is the most ambitious addition to the Stockholm lineup. Conceived as a destination for live performance and immersive formats, it will bring together architecture, music and dining within a single environment. The venue will host the Royal Swedish Opera over the coming years, establishing a direct connection to Sweden’s most prominent cultural institutions.
Acclaimed chef Stefan Eriksson, former co-creator of the internationally recognised Stockholm restaurant Brutalisten and recipient of the Chef of the Year award in Sweden, will serve as culinary lead at Gasometer. His appointment signals the level of ambition Miramis is bringing to its Swedish expansion.
Built for depth, not scale
Stefano Cuoco takes the helm as Chief Executive Officer, bringing strategic direction to the brand’s next growth phase. Miramis was born from a belief that meaningful experiences come from places that feel real, grounded, and deeply connected to their surroundings. Our growth is not about scale, but about creating a number of places like no others,” said Stefano Cuoco. “Sweden represents a natural next step — a place where we see strong potential to develop hospitality, culinary and cultural experiences with the same long-term mindset that has shaped our journey in Tuscany.”
Across every project, Miramis says its approach prioritises depth over volume, with a small number of destinations each developed with long-term perspective. From the Tuscan coast to the streets of Stockholm, the brand is positioning itself as a hospitality platform where gastronomy, culture and a genuine sense of place define the guest experience.
