Hyatt Place Opens in Historic French City

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has unveiled its newest addition, Hyatt Place Rouen, strategically located in the heart of Rouen, France.

The opening marks a significant expansion of the Hyatt Place brand in a region renowned for its rich history, picturesque landscapes, and vibrant culture.

Housed within a former teacher training college dating back to 1886, Hyatt Place Rouen marries the city’s storied past with modern luxury. The hotel’s design reflects the unique character of Rouen, a city often referred to as the “City of a Hundred Spires” due to its iconic Gothic architecture. Guests can immerse themselves in this historic ambiance while enjoying the comforts of contemporary amenities.

The interior design of the hotel draws inspiration from Rouen’s scenic surroundings. A steel blue palette mirrors the Seine River and the dramatic skies of Normandy, while muted yellow tones pay homage to the region’s famed Calvados spirits and warm local culture. The hotel also features artistic references to the old town’s half-timbered buildings, enhancing the connection to Rouen’s heritage.

Prime Location with Panoramic Views

Hyatt Place Rouen is ideally situated within a short walking distance from major attractions such as the Musee des Beaux-Arts de Rouen and the Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen. Guests can also enjoy panoramic views of the city’s skyline, making it a perfect base for exploring the third most visited region in France.

The hotel’s strategic location, just two hours from Paris, provides easy access to both the vibrant city life and the tranquil countryside of Normandy, making it an excellent choice for both leisure and business travelers.

For dining, guests can visit the Zoom restaurant, which features an outdoor terrace and garden, offering authentic French regional cuisine. The restaurant’s menu is complemented by a selection of local wines and handcrafted mocktails, providing a true taste of the region.

The hotel’s wellness facilities are equally impressive, including a 52-square-meter fitness center, a 22-square-meter heated pool, and a luxurious 316-square-meter spa. With treatment rooms offering services from renowned brands, guests can indulge in a rejuvenating experience during their stay.

Ideal for Meetings and Events

Business travelers and event organizers will find Hyatt Place Rouen to be a versatile venue, with 280 square meters of flexible meeting and event space. Whether hosting a corporate event or a private celebration, the hotel’s dedicated team ensures a seamless and memorable experience.

Michel Morauw, Managing Director Hyatt EAME North, expressed his enthusiasm about the new opening: “Hyatt Place Rouen captures the essence of Rouen’s rich history while providing the modern traveler with a comfortable, convenient, and memorable stay, whether visiting for a short business break or a leisurely getaway to explore the region’s culture and history.”

Christophe Bourret, Président du Groupe Matmut, highlighted the significance of the project: “We take pride in having preserved a historic monument in Rouen through this project. The spirit of the former school is revived through the aesthetics of the Hyatt Place Rouen. This establishment will welcome tourists seeking a serene and elegant place to stay, providing high-quality services including premium guest rooms, wellness facilities, and spaces for meetings and events.”

With its unique blend of historical charm and contemporary elegance, Hyatt Place Rouen is set to become a top destination for travelers visiting Normandy, offering an unparalleled experience in one of France’s most captivating regions.
