InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is set to make a grand return to Serbia with the opening of the new InterContinental Belgrade by the end of 2026.
This announcement marks a significant comeback for the world-renowned luxury hotel brand, which has been absent from Serbia for 20 years. The new hotel, a collaboration between IHG Hotels & Resorts and Delta Holding, is poised to offer a blend of luxury, elegance, and modernity to both business and leisure travelers.
Located in the heart of Belgrade’s bustling business and financial center, the ‘Delta District’, InterContinental Belgrade will be part of a new mixed-use development directly connected to the newly renovated Sava Centar, the largest convention and exhibition space in the region. The hotel will feature 203 rooms, including 28 Premium Rooms, 15 Junior Suites, 2 Superior Suites, 2 Executive Suites, and a Presidential Suite with panoramic views of the city.
With its striking architecture and a range of unique amenities, the hotel promises to deliver an unparalleled luxury experience. Guests can look forward to enjoying a breathtaking sky pool, a rooftop restaurant and bar, and a terrace offering fine dining with stunning views. Additional features include a spa and wellness center, a ballroom, a lobby lounge, a café, a patisserie, and versatile meeting spaces.
(Mrs) Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed her enthusiasm: “Our world-renowned InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand has been pioneering luxury travel for more than 75 years, and it’s great to bring it back to Serbia, a country that has enjoyed a surge in tourism in recent years. Its reputation as a business and investment powerhouse, together with its rich artistic heritage, fascinating history dating back over 7,000 years, and exquisite cuisine, makes it the ideal destination for locals and international visitors alike.”
This project is the fourth property IHG is developing in partnership with Delta Holding, following the success of Crowne Plaza Belgrade, Hotel Indigo Belgrade, and InterContinental Ljubljana in Slovenia. Andrej Sovrović, Member of the Executive Board of Delta Holding and Cluster General Manager IHG Hotels & Resorts, noted, “We are looking to create unique places for locals and travellers to enjoy in Belgrade, which is why we are excited that InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, the world’s first and largest international luxury hotel brand, will be part of our exciting new development in the city.”
The new hotel will join IHG’s growing portfolio in the Balkans, where nearly 20 open and pipeline properties are planned across countries such as Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, and Northern Macedonia. This move aligns with Serbia’s rising profile as a destination for both tourism and business, attracting visitors with its rich cultural history, dynamic urban environment, and strategic location.
InterContinental Belgrade is set to offer a new level of luxury and sophistication in the Serbian capital, appealing to travelers seeking memorable experiences in a city that combines old-world charm with modern vibrancy. As the brand prepares to open its doors in 2026, it aims to redefine luxury hospitality in Belgrade and further solidify its presence in the Balkans.
