River Rock Hotels & Resorts plans to open its first property in Russia, River Rock Gelendzhik Bay, in Q2 2026. The company confirms the new development in the coastal city of Gelendzhik on the Black Sea, marking a significant step in its regional expansion. The Antalya-headquartered group says the hotel will join a pipeline of nine additional projects across Russia and neighbouring regions.
The property will open with 116 rooms and suites across several categories, including Deluxe and Premium rooms, Junior Suites, and two Presidential Suites. Many units will include terraces or balconies facing forested hills or the bay. The resort is positioned as a flagship development for River Rock Hotels & Resorts, which is expanding its presence across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia, and the Caribbean.
First Russian project confirmed for the Black Sea coast
River Rock Gelendzhik Bay stands between hillside forest and the shoreline, with direct access to the city’s seafront promenade. Plans include an indoor pool with forest views, a spa and wellness centre, fitness facilities, a lounge bar, and dedicated family and event spaces. River Rock also confirms multiple dining outlets, including a signature restaurant, all-day dining space with open kitchen, and pool and lounge bars focusing on Black Sea produce.
The company describes the property as a refined lifestyle resort aimed at leisure travellers, couples, and families. The design will focus on “understated luxury” and a balance of “comfort, warmth, and sensory experience,” according to the group. The project is intended to showcase River Rock’s philosophy of cultural connection and guest-centred service.
