Air Serbia will resume direct flights between Belgrade and Munich on 22 May 2026, after an 18-year hiatus. Flights will operate daily, ensuring continuity and efficiency in connecting these two cities.
Air Serbia is boosting its presence in Germany, flying to 10 cities in total from Belgrade and Niš. In addition to Munich, the Serbian national carrier’s destination network includes Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Frankfurt (Hahn), Hamburg, Hannover, Cologne, Nuremberg, and Stuttgart.
Flights to Tenerife to commence earlier than planned
The start of Air Serbia’s direct flights on the Belgrade–Tenerife route will take place earlier than initially announced. Instead of the originally planned 27 October, passengers will be able to travel to Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, as early as 15 September.
Direct flights will operate twice a week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays from Belgrade, while return flights are scheduled for Wednesdays and Sundays.
The most successful quarter so far: Air Serbia carried over 800,000 passengers
In the first quarter of 2026, Air Serbia set a new standard by carrying over 813,000 passengers, representing a three percent growth compared to the same period in 2025. This is also the first time that the number of 800,000 carried passengers was surpassed in the January – March period. During Q1 2026, more than 10,000 flights were operated, which is five percent more than in the same period last year.
“The results achieved in the first quarter confirm efficient network and capacity management, as well as growing passenger confidence in Air Serbia’s services. This success at the beginning of the year gains additional significance when considering the current challenges in the global aviation industry – from the complexity of supply chains to operational pressures at major European hubs,” said Jiří Marek, CEO of Air Serbia.
The most popular Air Serbia destinations from January to March were Podgorica, Tivat, and Ljubljana in the region, while in Western Europe the most sought-after flights were to Paris, Zurich, Milan, London, Barcelona, Vienna, Frankfurt, Rome, and Amsterdam. In the broader Euro-Mediterranean zone, passengers most frequently travelled to Athens, Istanbul, and Larnaca.
The summer season begins: Air Serbia flies to over 100 destinations worldwide
From 29 March, the national airline is operating a record number of destinations, new routes, and increased flight frequencies in its summer schedule to more than 100 cities around the world on a fleet of 30 aircraft.
The summer season brings a range of new additions such as Santorini, Baku, Alicante and Brac Island. Flights to Seville will start at the end of September and direct flights to Tromsø will be introduced in the upcoming winter season.
Toronto becomes the fifth long-haul destination alongside New York, Chicago, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
This year, Air Serbia is also proudly celebrating a major milestone – ten years of scheduled flights to New York. The first long-haul destination in North America opened the door to the company’s global network and has remained one of its most in-demand routes, confirming the strategic importance of this market.
Air Serbia is also increasing the number of flights to Athens, Brussels, Milan, Madrid, Lisbon, Prague, and Vienna, while Istanbul, Malta, Florence, and Nice will further enrich the offering. Within the region, passengers will be able to enjoy more flights to Pula, Thessaloniki, Sofia, and Tivat.
