American Airlines to Serve Champagne Bollinger in Lounges and Flights

American Airlines has announced a new partnership with Champagne Bollinger, making it the first time the carrier will collaborate with a prestige Champagne both in lounges and on board.

The initiative, unveiled in September, introduces Bollinger’s flagship Special Cuvée to select Flagship® lounges and premium cabins as the airline enhances its customer experience ahead of its centennial year.

The partnership underscores American Airlines’ focus on premium hospitality and aligns with Bollinger’s nearly 200 years of winemaking tradition. The rollout begins immediately in U.S. Flagship® lounges and will expand to Flagship® First and Business cabins on transatlantic flights, including routes to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Premium Partnership Highlights

Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer, said: “At American, our focus is on elevating the experience for our customers and we’re excited to announce this partnership with Champagne Bollinger. A House as storied as Bollinger is the perfect fit for American on the eve of our centennial year.”

Founded in 1829, Champagne Bollinger is one of the last independent family-owned Houses of Champagne, recognized for its Pinot Noir-based style and artisanal production methods. Its Special Cuvée will be the centerpiece of American’s premium beverage offering, symbolizing both tradition and refinement.

Charles-Armand de Belenet, Managing Director of Champagne Bollinger, said: “We are proud to introduce Champagne Bollinger to American’s discerning travelers. Special Cuvée represents the culmination of generations of craftsmanship and our unwavering dedication to quality. Sharing it in American’s premium lounges and Flagship® cabins allows us to extend the Bollinger vision of hospitality and bring our spirit of excellence to an inspiring new setting.”

Lounges and Flight Service

American Airlines has already introduced Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvée in Flagship® lounges at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Miami International Airport (MIA) and O’Hare International Airport (ORD). In the coming weeks, the Champagne will be added to lounges at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Admirals Club® members across the system will also have the option to purchase Bollinger.

The in-flight service begins next month with exclusive availability in Flagship® First and Business cabins on all flights to and from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). A broader international rollout will follow, extending the partnership to additional Flagship® routes in the coming months.

American Airlines said the introduction of Bollinger is part of its broader investment in premium services, including world-class dining, expanded lounges, and elevated onboard offerings. The airline has also announced plans for new Flagship® lounges at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Miami International Airport (MIA).

Bollinger, headquartered in Aÿ, France, has built its reputation on sustainable practices and a focus on Pinot Noir. The House combines estate vineyards with long-established cellar methods to create wines that are internationally recognized for their depth and elegance. The collaboration with American Airlines brings this legacy to an international passenger base.

Special Cuvée is known for its power, complexity, and refined character, making it a natural choice for Flagship® lounges and transatlantic flights. Its presence supports American Airlines’ ambition to position itself among global leaders in premium hospitality, offering customers a curated experience from lounge arrival to in-flight service.

The Champagne greeting has long been a hallmark of premium travel, and American’s decision to introduce Bollinger is designed to enhance that tradition. The airline views the partnership as an important step in differentiating its service ahead of its 100th anniversary, while responding to growing demand for curated luxury experiences among international travelers.

American Airlines’ partnership with Champagne Bollinger reflects a shared commitment to excellence, heritage, and hospitality. As the rollout expands, travelers can expect to see Bollinger Special Cuvée integrated into more lounges and flights, strengthening American’s premium offering both on the ground and in the air.
