ITA Airways will suspend all booking and sales functions for 24 hours on November 22 as it undertakes a scheduled upgrade of its sales systems. The shutdown begins at 12:01 a.m. CET and will affect new reservations, booking modifications, ancillary service purchases and the display of flight availability across the airline’s digital channels.
The airline says the upgrade is part of its ongoing effort to enhance service efficiency and improve the purchasing experience through closer technological integration with the Lufthansa Group. While sales channels will be offline, airport operations and web check-in will continue to function during the transition period.
Booking services paused during system update
For the full 24-hour upgrade window, customers will not be able to make new bookings or adjust existing ones through ITA Airways’ website, app or call center. The suspension extends to the issuance of travel documents and changes related to ancillary services such as seat selection, lounge access and flight upgrades.
The airline also confirms that access to the “Smart Group” tool will be unavailable during the upgrade. However, check-in services at airports will remain active, and web check-in will operate normally. Ticket issuance and changes for flights scheduled between November 22 and 25 will continue to be handled by airport staff.
Airline emphasises goal of improving customer experience
ITA Airways describes the system upgrade as a step toward offering a more innovative and efficient service framework. The work supports its ongoing collaboration with the Lufthansa Group, which aims to strengthen operational synergies and enhance digital capabilities across shared platforms.
The airline advises customers planning upcoming travel to complete any required booking adjustments before the outage begins. More information on system availability and travel guidance is provided on ita-airways.com.
