ITA Airways Resumes Rome–Tel Aviv Flights in January 2026

ITA Airways will resume direct flights between Rome Fiumicino and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion starting January 1, 2026, restoring a key air link between Italy and Israel.

The airline will operate two daily flights on the route using its Airbus A321neo, marking a renewed commitment to connectivity, efficiency, and sustainability within its expanding international network.

The decision to restart the service underscores the strategic importance of the Rome–Tel Aviv route for ITA Airways, both commercially and culturally. The relaunch strengthens Italy’s aviation ties with Israel, supporting business, tourism, and community travel between the two countries through the carrier’s Rome Fiumicino hub.

Two Daily Flights Linking Italy and Israel

Beginning January 1, 2026, ITA Airways will operate two roundtrip services each day. Flight AZ806 will depart Rome Fiumicino at 09:15 a.m. and arrive in Tel Aviv at 01:35 p.m. local time, with the return flight AZ807 departing Tel Aviv at 2:55 p.m. and landing in Rome at 5:40 p.m. The second rotation, AZ810, will leave Rome at 10:50 p.m. and reach Tel Aviv at 03:10 a.m. the following day, while AZ809 will depart Tel Aviv at 05:15 a.m. and arrive in Rome at 08:05 a.m.

These schedules are designed to offer convenient same-day connections through Rome Fiumicino to destinations across Europe, North America, and Asia. The return of the route reinforces ITA Airways’ goal of enhancing its global reach from its primary hub, where it continues to expand its transatlantic and regional services.

The route will be operated with the Airbus A321neo, the first narrow-body aircraft in ITA Airways’ fleet equipped with three cabin classes: Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy. The aircraft provides a new travel experience, featuring full flat-bed seats in Business Class, advanced cabin lighting, 4K in-flight entertainment, and interiors designed to reflect Italian style and elegance.

The A321neo model offers more than 20% lower fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions per seat compared with previous-generation aircraft, aligning with ITA Airways’ commitment to sustainable operations. The airline continues to renew its fleet with next-generation aircraft, supporting its long-term goal to reduce environmental impact and improve efficiency.

“The resumption of flights between Rome and Tel Aviv holds strategic importance for ITA Airways and represents a significant step for Italy, further strengthening the commercial, social, and cultural ties between the two countries,” the airline said in a statement.

Tickets for the Rome–Tel Aviv route are now available on ita-airways.com, through ITA Airways’ customer information center, travel agencies, and airport ticket offices. The carrier is promoting the route as a seamless connection for travelers heading to or from the Mediterranean and Middle East.

The renewed service is expected to support both tourism and trade between Italy and Israel. With its position as Italy’s flag carrier, ITA Airways is emphasizing its role as a bridge between Europe and the Middle East, complementing recent network developments that include new long-haul destinations and expanded European links through Rome Fiumicino.

ITA Airways is jointly owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (59%) and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (41%). The airline provides passenger and cargo services across international markets and continues to position itself as Italy’s reference carrier. The company’s strategy focuses on quality, sustainability, and digital innovation to enhance customer experience and operational performance.

In addition to its Rome–Tel Aviv relaunch, ITA Airways has been expanding its North American routes and strengthening partnerships with SkyTeam alliance members. The airline’s growing fleet of Airbus A220, A320neo, A321neo, and A330neo aircraft underscores its focus on fuel-efficient operations and modern service standards.

As part of its broader sustainability framework, ITA Airways integrates environmental, social, and governance principles into its corporate strategy. The company continues to invest in technological innovation and digital tools to simplify the travel experience, aligning with global aviation’s shift toward smarter, greener, and more connected operations.

With the resumption of flights between Rome and Tel Aviv, ITA Airways reaffirms its role as a key link in Mediterranean and global air transport, bridging two vibrant destinations through a modern and sustainable fleet. The airline’s renewed schedule is expected to benefit both leisure and business travelers, reflecting a wider rebound in international air travel demand heading into 2026.
